well my friends i are thinking about building a dual chamber (3" by 3') with a 1.5" barrel using two 1" sprikler valves. both of the valves would empty into the end cap of a 3" to 1.5 " reducer in seperate piece of pvc as to double the the airflow. as of right now we have a basic dishpan valve spud gun that works great. brought it into phsyics shot it and caculated that it shots the potato at around 150-200 f\s at 95 psi . but yea back to my question would the dual 1" valves create a huge bottleneck or not really noticeable? we are trying to imporve of the dishpan model ( the diaphram kinda sucks cause it gets deformed so much). we would modify the valves to open faster and all but still 1" would seem to be a bottleneck. would it be better to try and make a piston valve setup? it owuld be my first piston valve but i think i can handle it with time.

piston valves are hard to make sometimes depending on the individual situation and the materials you can get. but they open pretty nicely. i recommend them over diaphragm valves if you can make one work.
