I'd really like to build a pneumatic airsoft sniper rifle, but I don't know how. I have an image of how it would look in my head, but i have no idea if this would work. This is the direction of the parts from barrel to chamber: barrel, t-pipe with attatched pipe for grip, more barrel, trigger mechanism, chamber, stock. Is there any way I could build one of these that fires single-shot, does not use a vortex block (or is that only in automatics? I dunno), shoots airsoft BBs, and must be pumped up after every shot? (I am planning on using the finished product (if I make one) in airsoft; I would use a foot pump for every shot.) Thanks a ton in advace to anyone who can help me or would just like to comment on the subject.

the vortex is only in one type of automatic, you CANNOT use a homemade gun for airsoft, it will almost always travel at too many FPS to be allowed, it can break skin and cause further injury if its going too fast

Oh boy, here we go again. It's not really speed, but ROF. WIth a higher ROF, more BBs hit the target at once, causing more damage.

But what are the chances that they are all going to hit in the same place to do damage. Especially in a homemade. An airoft bb going fast will penetrate the skin and can lodge itself under the skin if it is going fast enough. So i'm going to argue that in this particular instance fps would matter more.

I think we have a misunderstanding. I didn't mean I was going to use it in airsoft tournaments or skirmishes. I also don't want to use enough pressure to make the BB travel at a FPS that would lodge it in skin. I would like to shoot the BB at a elevated velocity but not elevated enough to do any permanent damage. I would also only use the gun in target shooting and skirmishes on private land with my friends.

We'r not going to discuss this here. If you want to make it, I'm going to leave you compleatly on your own, in the hopes that you gain eneough experience to realize that this... might not be a good idea.

This is a horrible idea, Iam on a airsoft team and we play with guns that shoot 500 MAX. Anything more than that and goggles are going to be broken and people can be seriously hurt. My M16A2 shoots about 420 and I can shred pop cans at that speed :!: Whatever you do be safe.
