that ratings system sounds heaps good, i would use that
but then it comes down to how you "rate" a gun, do you base your system on design, looks, performance or what?

That's down to the individual, there are some cool launcers with low power, ugly launchers with amazing performance, and average launchers that are brilliantly finished - all deserving of a good rating - so imposing criteria would be unfair.
