Ohhhh.... Thanks for clearing up the math for me! (Algebra's always the class that kicks me off the gold honor roll ) Makes sense. I knew I was missing something! Also, those are some awesome damage pics! Haha, you can see the cell phone shadow on the plywood!

i really don't know i built this over like a 3 month period (started it got sick for a month then finished it and slowly add parts for look) if i were to guess i would say over $50. i never really have a budget because i have like 3 projects going at once (so i don't get bored when i don't have the right pieces)

I was lurking around, too lzy to post for too long, that is an amazing cannon. Put some ear plugs on and take it as far as you dare to take pvc and see what happens.
I like it. You get a cookie.

could please explain what the variables are(pi,r and h are nto measurment wise but what they aresingularity wrote:noob of noobs no not so you actually have to do some math to find the ratio... to make this easy im going to say the air chamber and barrel are 40" (which is pretty close to the real length). the first thing we need to do is find the volume of the barrel (pi*r2*h) so pi*.25*40=31.42 the volume of the barrel, now the same equation is used to find the area of the chamber. pi*2.25*40=282.74 but we need to subtract the area of the barrel becuase its a coaxial. 282.74-31.42=251.32 now to find the ratio i divide 251.32 by 31.42 and we get a C:B ratio of 7.99:1 but i did not incorporate the wall thickness of the pipe so its a slightly smaller than 7.99:1 but still way overkill for a pneumatic
cheers Nato
Pi is pi. It is equal to 3.14 or 22/7, whichever.
R is radius. It is equal to 1/2 the diameter, or d.
h is height or length, whichever you want to call it.
Also, try not to double post, the mods (nor anyone else) likes it.

pi is a math constant. Not relevant to the gun itself, but relative any time a circle is involved.
