Hey guys, even though airsofts aren't loud at all, I think some homemades which work with an air chamber and a valve are still a bit noisy. :D Especially when you have a long 6mm barrel, you can hear this sharp noise of air flowing by the sides of the barrel. Know what I mean? And I think there has to be a way to make a silencer/suspressor for it. The only thing I've thought off is to make holes in the barrel (not effective :( ) or to make the same kind of silencer they use for powder guns:

(Though I haven't tried this out yet)
Got some plans/experiences/ideas to share with me?

Here's a few I made for my airguns, they all have basically all work on the same principle as the diagram you made.

More noise is made from the gearbox in AEGs rather than the actual BB coming out of the barrel.

this is a little off-topic, but does anyone know how to make an AMPLIFIER?

that way, my aeg would make people cringe at the sound..........

its an MP5 SD series, so i think it should be easy enough to make it integral.

You want your AEG to sound more like a sewing machine?!

You're not going to have much luck increasing the muzzle blast, unless you dramatically hsorten the barrel, replace your AEG motor with a chainsaw engine and use the spring from a truck's suspension

The best solution would probably involve an ipod, some real assault rifle sound effects and a couple of compact speakers.

Look up the noveske style flash hider. Madbull makes them and I think one Chinese company clones them. They are supposed to make your gun louder, I haven't any personal experience.

There's a youtube video I haven't watched yet. (Being at work)

i know i tried once with a big paper cone housed in copper pipe (copper pipe has the lowest sound absorbency of all pipe materials)

it made it quite loud. however, it was big, bulky, and kind of pointless for its incredible size.

And Jack, the reason i want to amplify the muzzle blast is to get rid of that gosh-darned electric drill noise. eventually im investing in sound-absorbent foam and covering my gearbox in it to help muffle that horrible sound. when people ask me why i like Gas guns, i ask them how realistic their AEG's sound............

i realized today that i could simply remove the SD silencer and replace it with the madbull amplifier. its the same OD, and it would look.... well..... "custom", along with the Mp5SD RIS system and a flashlight, laser, and red Dot scope.............

yes that is almost 200 bucks in accesories...........

Still a bit of a grey area, you just have to be careful not to find yourself in awkward circumstances.
