A little while ago I built this vortex but only just recently got around to testing it. the rate of fire is extremely high and have to stop firing to get more bbs forward. however there is a problem. It only fires about 10m. I think that this is caused by the barrel as it has an 8mm ID and this is probably causing to much loss.

Your barrel is far too large, you're never going to get useful power like that.

I once made an experiment back in the spudtech days, a difference of 0.5mm in diameter resulted in a 25% power loss. With your barrel 2mm larger in diameter, the space for air to escape past the BB is almost as large as the area of the BB itself.
