i'd pay $20-$30 for 100 or so 17mm sinker tip accepting ones, only draw back for me on this is because of the un-spherical shape i would have to muzzle load them.

How would you know that it would fit the barrel? How are you molding them? Depending on the barrel, it will simply just be too big. You will have to get out the old calipers, and then get some sort of special mold. A tightbore for instance, will be probably just get jammed if you use a regular barrel for a mold.

I would check out the material and postage costs first, add a bit of labour and you're sorted.

Check out these pics, first is a can with a hole in it (plus a little ammo).
Second is a poor mans chrono test i did with my new 6mm Poly bb tipped ammo. This was fired from a mini (200ml) combustion.

Edit: just noticed that you can't see the hole i the first can. meh, it went through the top anyway.

This is the kind of mould i use. However my 6mm mould is capible of making 200+ plus rounds at a time  The body is 5.5mm leading to a "skirt" (just like an airifle pellet) of 6.1-6.25mm (consistency is a rather tedious task).

I think you'd be better off selling quality moulds - less effort for you, and people are free to experiment with different materials , for example using steel BBs instead of lead sinkers etc.

Thats not a bad idea, i would have to hand make them to start with, but a nc machine (for free) would be the bomb  Thanks for that idea jsr.

Also, you'd have less trouble exporting a mould as opposed to "ammunition", and I think potential customers would be more comfortable with the idea of being able to make their own ammo cost-effectively rather than having to rely on an external supplier.

yes, selling moulds would be great. is it possible to get these in .40 calibre? with some slingshot ammo as the weight?

talk about super stun darts........... and probaobly cheaper and better working that the ones you buy in the store.

All you need really is a block of wood, 10 1.5 inch long sections of barrel glued to it, a bit of patience and you're ready to start casting...

I'll make some Paintball sized stunners and post damage pics
I'll only use a combustion, i'm sure the damage from a paintball gun would be in the order of 3x the damage :D

Edit: I'll also make a sabot and fire a paintball stunner out of my hybrid at a 2x mix.

cant wait to see them pics.. should be good!

i finally solved the problem i had. i didnt have any hunks of metal laying around and i didnt want to drill through a lump of it anyway.

i took a portion(about 1cm) of my barrel, and then a shard of a 2" sch40 PVC cap(didnt explode, just needed to take the tyre valve out of it).

I then drilled a tiny bit into the shard of pvc, so it was like a V. glued on my bit of barrel and chucked in a fair bit of CRC as lube.

Got my sinker, and held it in pliers and heated it for about 30 secs with my heat gun on full. plopped it into the bit of barrel, and it sat perfectly in the little hole in the PVC and then pumped it with hot glue.

i left it in water for about a minute to speed up hardening and then snapped the barrel bit off and pushed it out with the blunt side of a drill bit.

sorry, no pictures atm because i lost the one i made and i need some more smaller sinkers.

Not trying to put you out of business if you plan on selling these but just letting anyone whos to tight to buy them know how i make them.
