ROFL - that's one of the funniest things I have read in ages.
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?

I'm not too sure if I have a dive center in the close area. I can always find out, but right now I'm still thinking about the pump as with that, if/when I decide to get an empty scuba tank I can fill that up for free.

I can fill that up for free.
I think you're underestimating the effort it takes to take that volume over 1000 psi with a pump - do you have a local airgun club close by, I think in this case it's best of you "try before you buy" ;)

I know it would take a shjt load of pumping to get a large volume upto and past 1000PSI, it would save me quite a few bob after about say 5 free fills.

Aren't those guns using hand pumps just topped up rather than completely re-filled? That makes it a bit easier than starting from empty.
I believe they shoot off the top of 3000 psi.
I can still see one of those pumps being handy for just getting to 500-1000psi. Those would be nice pressures for a homemade gun.

The bidding on eBay has gon higher than what I wanted to pay for the pump...So I guess I'll have to stick to 400PSI with my shock pump...

okay but I'd like to add that you can use other pumps to get your pressures while minimizing your effort, like try first using your compressor then shock pump then the extreme pressures pumps

my compressor out-put is only 150PSI, so there is still some pumping to get it upto 400PSI. The bidding has gone over the price I'm willing to pay for the used AR pump, and I'm not buying a brad new £110 one either.

I have seen that but am strongly against the idea of letting off Ozone-polluting gasses off into the atmosphere. And I'm man enough to pump with a shock pump ^^

That wouldn't let freon out or anything just air as he took the pump off the tank of coolant, read man.

However if you decide to remove it yourself you'll release freon to the atmosphere and it would dammage ozone layer
you release some freon regardless
you can put kinks in the tubes before you cut to minimize released freon to the volume in the pump, I'd do it ozone is an old issue being replaced with global warming, I'd just kink it before removing the pump to minimize it

I personaly would see no real point as i have a shock pump already, and pumping to 400PSI really isn't as hard or time comsuming as being made out to be.
