This is a tutorial I decided to make on making fletchettes.
Materials: Finishing nails they're little,
duct tape, twisted nylon twine

Tool: scizzors.

Step one: Use your scizzors to cut a 9cm piece of twine.
Step two: Take a long piece of duct tape and split it in half langth wise.
Step three: Cut 2cm pieces from the duct tape.
Step four: Put the side of the duct tape on the finishing nail.
Step five:Put the twine next to the finishing nail.
Step six:Tightly role the finishing nail and twine in the duct tape.

You are probably saying fletchettes don't have tails but this is made for small caliber barrel maybe 1/2 barrel. And I would be using these in a pneumatic so the tail wouldn't be melted off. To use these you put wading down the barel and load down however many you can fit facing forward next to one-another.These little darts should have a shotgun like efect.

You can't see them when they fly but you can throw them and they fly strait.
P.S. I guess I can change the avatar.

If you load them all into your barrel and shoot them at a balloon I bet only one will penetrate  :D

Jack. This is why everyone loves you and hates you at the same time.

Those look interesting, though I would think the tail would cause a significant amount of drag.

I try :)

I agree that there would be a lot of drag involved, in my opinion just hammering the head flat makes for an effective and easy flechette. You could even add some twist in the tail to give spin as used in the SCIMTR shotgun flechette ammunition.

That is some pretty wicked looking ammo in that shell! I've always just seen round ones.

Well, the logic behind them was rather cruel:
Flechettes, with their high sectional density, were ideal for penetrating rigid or soft composite armor, but the wounds caused by the tiny darts were considered insufficient to disable an enemy combatant, as the tiny hole would quickly clot and cause relatively little bleeding. The SCMITR darts had the same sectional density as flechettes, but the wide, flat shape of the SCMITR produced a larger, more disabling wound

Well, I guess the idea was to kill the guy so... Might as well reduce suffering while we are at it.

Well maybe if I edit the tutorial to say to cut the twine to 6cm or so?
which would give less drag.
