I saw the F.A.R. on nerfhaven.com and thought about how cool it was. Then I thought about ways to adapt it to airsoft. Then it hit me. What if I would be to change the foam dart out for a mass of bb's, in effect creating a buckshot shotshell. Well at this point I am about 30% complete and my plan is to have a sideloaded magazine with the spent shell droppingthrough the bottom of the chamber. I am going to modify the original design so that it is a pump (like a real pump shotgun) and uses not one but 3 spring airsoft gun springs.
yeah, just pack the shell with bbs, add some tp over them.

The Far is going to be much harder than you think to make.

it is - the bolt i've redone at least 8 times
Look up the SCAR-N. Its pump action, doesn't need shells, and gets better range. If you can build a FAR, then you can probably figure out how to build the SCAR by looking at the CAD drawings and reading the FAR write-up.

Nerfs work the same way as spring airsoft guns. Ofcourse it can shoot airsoft bb's.

My goal was to hybridize the SCAR and FAR for cost efficiency. I don't make a ton of money so cost was definitely a factor in which rifle I chose to build.

Meh. Have fun. Both SCAR and FAR are the hardest guns to replicate.Dr meat201 wrote:My goal was to hybridize the SCAR and FAR for cost efficiency. I don't make a ton of money so cost was definitely a factor in which rifle I chose to build.
