I think I've seen this gun around before, but it was on a strange weapons episode of Modern Marvels the other day so I looked it up.

Its the called the Sidewinder and claims 150 RPS and 600 fps. I think this performance is probably due to running at high pressure. Out of curiosity I looked up the the patent to see how it works. Looks like he was trying to hide it with the name "Gas operated particle feed apparatus" . I haven't looked at it in detail, but it appears pretty complex, and from what I can tell it uses the incoming air to turn a device in the chamber that agitates the BBs and it has a constricted breech that seems to come up around here occasionally.

Isnt it just an advanced cloud/vortex but then in a slightly different way?
It looks like the air is coming from the sides where the bbs are blown out of the mag.

I do love how much people charge for these things, when basically they're clouds/strafers with some plastic stuck round the outside. Still the patent is interesting, and the other patents it refers to as well.

Yep, the whole BBMG scene on Spudtech and this site was built around spudsonfire's efforts to replicate the Strafer that this guy used to sell.

From the patent it looks to me like this guy really put a lot of work into the design an it is quite a bit more complicated than the BBMGs we make here.

However it does speak volumes for this community which has managed to make similar devices with extremely simple mechanisms, and in some aspects our designs perform better than commercial ones, such as the much greater range of firing positions possible with the spring and plunger assemblies.

On the link Grumpy posted, their flamethrower is simply a Vortex block system with a backpack air tank.

I still have to admit that the minigun is pretty darn cool.
