I just recently finished this bb gun. It has a piston made of hot glue attached to what is a hammer that strikes the BB in the barrel. I will glue the casing together and give it a new paint job soon but I'm going on a trip so it will be about a week. These pics should explain it all.

Cut in half view. Basically, when air is applied, it pushes the piston off the solid metal (which blocks the the air from escaping through the tube). Then the tube hits the bb in the barrel. Since the piston is off the piece of solid metal, it allows the air to escape after the bb has been hit.

Its like the blowforward breech system. But I think this one has less turbulance as the path of the air is a straight line. I think your piston parts look a bit too heavy though. I mean u dont wanna loose energy by pushing that piston forward> u want to use it to propel the projectile.

It's pretty much the same thing.

You'll be needing a longer barrel for significant power at compressor pressures though.
