Looks very good! I'll be very interested in the results of your testing. Maybe new life for the 1322 in the cabinet?

You've got a 1322? How old is it?

They don't sell 1322's anymore, you have to make them yourself. But assuming you've got one and it aint too old, I'd want to do the following to it:

Custom wooden stock. Screw the skeleton stock, make a wooden one out of birch, (cheap and not half-bad looking), plywood glued into a blocky prototype, chiseled, cut, and sanded into shape, stained, and sealed.

Hone up on that trigger group. Maybe cut the spring a little and polish the internals.

Longer barrel, probably around 20", with a shroud kit.

Ultimate Breech from Crooked Barn.

4-16x40 "Bug Buster" scope.

It's a 1322 "medalist", I think I've had it more than 10 years, not sure.

I have the 1399 stock and would have to agree that it's junk. It digs into the web of my hand.

Trigger and internals are good. (I do LOVE to fiddle with things!)

More barrel would be nice, but I don't know what a "shroud kit" is, will you explain or link me?

Breech and bolt would be a must, as the stock breech is platic junk.

If you don't mind, what did your parts set you back?

Very nice, but I would definitely go for a shroud over that skinny barrel.

I might. As far as integrity, the barrel is tempered steel, so there's no structural reason to get a shroud, but they look better.

Gipetto, a shroud kit puts a thin metal shroud of a greater diameter over the barrel. The kit also has to raise the valve connections to the barrel enough to reach the raised barrel. My parts set me back around seventy bucks. But that was mostly because of the custom blued-steel breech. If you just got a normal steel breech kit from Crosman, the price would be lower.

Thanks elitesniper. That stock is a little temporary for now, though. I've seen some wildly kickass homemade wooden stocks for Crosman pistols, and probably over the summer some time I'll get out the good ol' crawfish pot and burner with some boiling water and shape me a stock blank to use. Should look good after some staining and sealing...

With a bit of ingenuity you could easily turn that shroud into an integral suppressor ;) Though Ì'm guessing it isn't loud at all.

Got it. Sounds like a good idea, thanks.

Is that shroud kit available through crossman? (could always make one I suppose)

I had a look around their site last night, but could not find anything like that.

They don't sell a shroud kit. You should check out the Crosman Forums on Network 54 as they have many aftermarket sellers linked on there.

I just got done measuring the groups, although they're not anything special. My bags don't work in prone with this rifle, because my face is in the dirt when I get up to my spot weld. So, I was only able to shoot prone unsupported. The shots were just short of clover-leafing from prone unsupported at 11 yards.

Ok, will do. Thanks.

What were you expecting for group size? I have one break barrel that will beat that, but I've never seen a pump or CO2 come that close in this price range.

Maybe I should get out more?

Well, I'm still shooting without a breach seal, so there may be small velocity disparities contributing to the inaccuracy.

Plus, I wasn't shooting from a rest, I was shooting prone unsupported, which I must say isn't the easiest position for this rifle.

My old Daisy 880 could put shots through one ragged hole from ten meters on a bag.

All true and recognized, not intending to sound critical. I'm confident you'll get it sorted. :)

Probably not. Factory fps for a 1377 is around 600 fps with Premiers, so I'd say with the same ammo I'm getting a little bit higher, (because of the longer barrel). I usually just do penetration tests instead of velocity readings.

I got my breech seal in and it's installed. Get off of work at 1630, so we'll see what happens when I get home.

EDIT: Alright so the groups closed a lot. Ragged-hole groups at ten-meters, and I still don't have the right bag combo yet. I was shooting pellets off my "target stand" from ten meters after the scope was zeroed correctly.

Pictures will have to wait until tomorrow. Don't wanna post any group pictures until I get em as small as possible.
