ok guys im really excited. I just secured an inert m72 law tube to use for airsoft. For those of you who don't know what an m72 is....

So now its time to start figuring out how to get it working but i really don't know where to start. It needs to use the 12g co2 cartridges to power it and i would prefer to have it fire when the button on top is pushed.

After all the genius stuff i have seen built on this website i figured this would be the best place to ask advice. Any and all ideas are extremely appreciated. THanks!

I'm pretty n00b, but i think you could use a pneumatic where the blowgun is the button at the top.

EDIT: o yea, and welcome to spudfiles!

Thanks for the welcome!
i searched around prior to posting this thread, the only relevant thread had a bunch of ideas but nothing conclusive.

The guy who started the thread was building the entire thing from scratch. body, internals, everything. This gave him the ability to scale everything up. Thats not the case here, i need to build it inside the body without destroying it too much.

I think if you want to keep the "bazooka" look, you would be better going off making a Coaxial.

To get it to fire with the button you may have to rig up a blowgun in such a way that when you press the button down, it opens the blowgun and fires the cannon.

Or you could always hook it up electronically with a sprinkler valve as a pilot valve and keep the solenoid on.

I'd recommend going co-axial for this design.

A Coax will give you one shot before a reload, and for a game you probably want a BBMG, an inline should be pretty easy to rig up in there.

if i had a m72 tube i would fit an airsoft m203 grenade it, that would take care of the chamber and valve all in one shot. somethig like this.

i'd say go with a coaxial and a toolies valve- that way you get more chamber space, but less barrel length... so its a factor of power vs. accuracy i guess in a sense

ok i finally had some time to work on this project but its a lot harder than i thought it would be. I only have 22 in. of space to work with and 2" fittings do not fit inside the tube.
Both the toolies valve and coax set up are giving me problems because i do not have enough room for a schrader valve for filling and another valve for releasing the pilot on the back due to a lack of a solid end cap. The trigger has also become an issue because it needs to still fold up. However, the actual trigger could be used to pull something back about an inch.

Just out of curiosity would a presta valve work for filling and have enough flow to be the exhaust on a 2" outer and 1" inner coax?

so is this going to be used for airsoft or nerf or both?

either way I say do a coax inline vortex for airsoft, or a coax launcher for nerf. of if you really wanted to be badass you could do both..

just needs to shoot out the mini vortex nerf rockets. We use them to take out bunkers, vehicles, or just lob them like a mortar with a 15' kill radius.
