air compressor help

im currently using a 12 volt car air compressor...and i was wondering if this would be a good air compressor to buy?

spud guns...i havent any compressor powered tools...and my 12v compressor works but takes much longer than i would prefer it to

As long as Taztools doesn't want a outrages shipping fee it will probly work out well. Find out what he's going to want to ship it before you bid. Check his feedback as well, if you look hard enough you can find a feedback from me if I remember correctly I bought something from him.

looks good but remeber that fridge compressors can give you higher pressures (yeah I know I am always telling that but someone has to do it)

I have one of those. It is pretty decent for the price. How big of a chamber are you planning on using with it?

I would buy this but keep in mind the motor is extremely low powered, 1/3hp for a 2 gallon tank. I had to wait 4 minutes for a 1.5hp motor to fill a 6 gallon tank. This will probably take 3-5 minutes to fill and it does not have a regulator.

Thats not a big deal because homedepot has a cheap $20 regulator that you could hook up.

If you can save up $120, you could get a 6 gallon 2hp tank. I know its a lot more money but you will not regret it read below and you will know why.

I bought a 6 gallon 1.5hp husky pancake compressor for $180 and trust me it vibrated the house and took like 5 minutes to get to 135psi then when I tried to use any tool the cfm was not high enough and it would drain the tank in less then 5 seconds. I then returned that and bought a 33 gallon 1.5hp craftsman for $300 it takes about 5 minutes to get to 150psi and I got free tools. This thing has endless air and the tools run constantly .

if it all you plan to do is fill your cannons then it will work....but be warned that it will more than likely be verrrry noisy...

if you plan on running tools then you need to pay attention to the cfm out put of the head. A high out put head with a small tank simply means that the motor will run any time you use it,




ps.... scuba tanks don't make any noise at all and they are extremely portable

Scuba tanks make noise, there are what was used to make the "darth vader" sound!

I forgot to mention, the small compressors are extremely loud. The mini 6 gal pancake compressor I got was so loud you could not hear yourself talking in the same room. My 33 gallon has an ultra low noise motor at around 80 decibels. Its still loud in the same room but close the door and you can't hear much.
