Do not look back, and grieve over the past, for it is gone;
Do not be troubled about the future, for it has not yet come;
Live life in the present, and make it so beautiful that it will be worth remembering.

My presentation went great! My teacher liked it, and my classmates were very impressed.
When I got home I decided to go for serious penetration.
I made this slug ages ago out of a bolt and some nuts, and decided to test it against 1/2" plywood

Then the recoil:
Before:
After:
That cannon was mounted in their pretty tightly, and that doesn't even show how much the whole contraption kicked back.

Great pics and post.
It's good you have a chronograph too.
Glad to hear your demo went well.
I meant to suggest before that you could shoot something if it didn't 8)

some very fun and interesting updates I have here.
First of all, I found that my fridge compressor can easily get up to 600psi, it was just starting to slow down when it got to the top of my new gauge.
As for the little metal slug I shot before, I raised the pressure from 300 to 400, and got it cleanly through 4 pieces of plywood this time.

Fourth entry
Fourth exit
Attempt at a fifth puncture
Then I took that sharpened wooden dowel that I already showed you guys, and shot it at a empty can of pinapple. That little piece of wood went straight through both sides of the tin can, and sent the can flying 37' back, all the way to the end of my yard, where it got stopped by the blackberry bushes.

BTW, just a thought:
i have found that when you are doing barrel ---> Fittings that wont take pressure, you can just use superglue. For some reason superglue sticks REALLY WELL to copper. Its just a little easier than sweating the joints.

It is much messier than sweating, and makes it look terrible, though it does require less setup. However, the chances are that if you are sweating something on your barrel, you will also be sweating something that takes pressure, so there is no extra mess, and it is usable in under 5 minutes, as opposed to 30min or what ever.

My friend came over and we had some fun shooting cans with and without ammo.

nice cannon, but the spring in the QEV should definitly not be neccesary and is probably harming performance.

thanks, but no. It didn't work without it... as I said, I added an improv spring because it didn't seat on its own. It has no reason to seat if it just sits loosely in there and no pressure builds up behind it, because it all flows past it. Believe me, I would remove it if I could, as I am a total efficiency freak, but I can't.
