Taser Rounds
To sum it up:
Two guys using a basic combustion to fire a capacitor charged from a flash camera circuit. Capacitor was probably from a camera too.
The shells are good (amusingly improvised for something that they're advertising as able to kill) I don't know who they're kidding about the 'lethal' round though.

Read the rules, but it is cool, not for this site though.

Eh, you could probably kill someone with that. It won't stun very well though, you'd want something constantly pusling current into the "victim".

Done it with foil, not as impressive as you might expect. Also have to use low pressure to avoid screwing up the capacitor.rp181 wrote:ive always wanted to shoot a charged capacitor at a metal plate....
With a proper gun, an uncharged capacitor is already lethal.
But the idea is kinda cool.
Hey, why not fire a whole stungun?

they did a very nice job and I am working on sort of the same project.
when I complete it, i would post it on spudfiles, but it may cause some legal issues for PCGUY so I don't feel safe posting it on here. but I will probably post a link to my site about it.
and idk why they wouldn't rather use a pneumatic instead of a combustion because you would think that the combusting gas would (over time) destroy the projectile but w/e. it was still a nice vid.
good work xboxteen
(P.S.-
it's pretty funny and futuristic

Indeed, 2.06 it looks like the guy's about to get the taser shotgun slug in his crotch.

Interesting project, but it doesn't seem like they did a very good job on it. It looks like they are loading the projectile just slightly into the barrel to keep the power down, but to me it just seems lazy that they didn't make a smaller launcher for this project.
They neglected that the current to kill figure was the current across the heart and seemingly didn't include the resistance of the human body in their tests. I doubt that a camera flash can kill from two closely placed prongs, even if they have penetrated the skin.
I also question their assertion that it would penetrate body armor.
Their non-lethal round doesn't seem to have much potential either. It almost looks like they missed their test shot, but if they didn't then it pretty much shows that it won't do much to control a subject.

It does sound like a neet idea, but I am also sure it is against the rules.

About a week ago we had a guy on my boat take 440v/60hz in one arm out the other, the compartments in his arm muscles exploded leaving heavy bruises, but he lived despite perfect conditions for "across the heart" current. and given the human bodies resistance of 1470-1530 Ohms= 293mA, almost 50x the lethal amount, capacitors just dont hold enough charge to kill, at least not the little ones they use, I have definitely stunned myself though with a camera flash circuit(in front of a whole class of people way back when I was in HS)... it is a cool project, but we all should know that it could be done much better.

Dang, I had the same idea several months back. The video was laughable though, and "lethal"? WTF?
