Does the diameter of the chamber on a cloud affect the performance? If so what is the best size to use? is there a size that is to small?

Also do the bbs need to be a tight fit in the barrel for it to work?

For everything else being equal, the bigger the chamber, the more BBs you can fit but the less power they'll have, simple as that.

It does make a significant difference in performance.

Well I am planning on making a cloud with a 22mm chamber, I think i can get around 500 bbs in the length i will be using, unfortunately my barrelisnt a tight fit with the bbs as the other tube i had for the barrel was to tight and it jammed every shot.

If you use a ball valve and incorporate a T, You could have another magazine and keep the chamber small.
For reloading, you could open the BV, dump in more BB's and close it again. Might add weight though.
22mm should work, seems like 1.5"inch is common for BB's though  8)

.. or have the ball valve between the barrel and air supply, with your BBs already in a pressurised chamber, for maximum efficiency, no matter what your magazine size is ;)

I think I get it but not sure.
With this method you'd actually close the BV when there's no more BB's in that section rather than open/close it to reload?
Thanks. 8)
EDIT: Or you'd open the BV to fire it, and the pressure would build up in the chamber again?

OK. I saw thread before, but didn't notice the concept. Those "Nay-sayers" are funny in that post JSR Geez! and :x

Dang. I have this nice husky sandblaster handle and was planning to use the cool grip. But Now I want a BV triggered one.

Oh well, I could use it for a piston piloting valve still.
I still plan to test if I can modify the nozzle to suck in BB's rather than sand from a magazine, out the barrel (screwed directly to nozzle of sandblaster)(?) Thanks. 8)

BBs are probably a little large, perhaps you could get yourself a 2-3mm barrel and use lead shot as ammo? With high pressure and a long barrel you'd have a fine cutting buzz-saw :)

Lol, I was planning to bulk produce clouds running it off 2L-2.5L coke bottles. Anyway I believe the best way to make a simple cloud is to buy, well i'm using a 33mm inside diametre coupling XD. And I cant' be bothered buying end caps (for one I can't find any for some unknow reason) and i'm using epoxied Ice Tea Nozzles, as my end cap.

Oh and yes! that's right does the cloud get affected by the size the air input?, i was planning to make it 6mm blow hole. Surprisingly when i made it a 6mm blow hole i charged it up to 20psi (Well i kinda didn't epoxy it properly) i got like 2.5seconds of air running off 1.5L

Alright sorry i got a little off topic, how bout this anyone? Where is the best place to position the air input?
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

At the moment I have set it up how thunderlord suggested in his first post but I may change it to have the bv next to the barrel now. I would also like to no the answer to littlebros question, does the size of the air input affect the performance because so far with my tests using a bv it seems to fire better at low pressures.

Think of it as pouring water into a bucket with a hole in it. The faster you pour, the more water you'll have.

The faster you put air into the chamber, the more pressure you'll have and therefore greater power. As long as you BBs are still being adequately agitated within the chamber, bigger air input = good ;)
