A replica of the WW2 M1A1 "Bazooka".

Image

Valve: 2 inch serviceable piston
Porting: 1.5
Barrel: 2.625
Construction: Steel
Piloting: .25 QEV
Trigger: Blowgun
Action: Breech loading
HopUp: Yes
Pressure range: 290 psi (burst pressure of hose, Chamber pressure tested up to 400 psi.)
Range: 175 @ 110psi - 250 @ 150psi (Direct shot - flat trajectory)
Ammo: Tennis balls

I have been told by a WW2 veteran that this fires at roughly the same distance and speed as a real bazooka.

The hopup educes a backspin on the tennis ball also known as the Magnus effect. The ball leaves the barrel at somewhere between 220 fps and 310 fps, depending on pressure. The backspin keeps the ball on a flat level trajectory until it "drops" and comes to almost a complete stop. It is really wild to watch the shot from the side. The ball leaves the barrel, then slows down, and falls. It almost looks like it is in slow motion. You can easily catch the tennis ball with your hands beyond at 75-100 feet.

World's largest hopup. (That I know of.)

A cut-down, drilled & tapped blowgun with oak grips.

Open the mini ball valve until desired pressure. Close. Pull trigger to fire.

Dude that gun looks sexy man!...

It reminds me of Saving Private Ryan, If only I had the brains for such great guns... well I'm in training at the moment getting there...

I love that hop up too haha! Does it do much?

You reckon you could pop a video up soon?
It's Nerf or Nothing.

Don't start crying when I play this as my hobby, Paintball, Airsoft and Nerf are equally good hobbies, except you can play Nerf in public. Good day! Hmph!

Again, great work. Is this and the mortar intended for mil-sim wargaming? Given the substantial construction and clear potential for performance, it would be a shame to see it downtuned to "safe" levels...

Thats really nice..I like the whole stock and pistol grip wood thing..COOL!!! :thumbright:
Something that just came to mind. You could make a storage box for it like the army has for wepons..Just a wood box that stores the gun nice and neat..Maybe you can find a storage wood crate made already just mod it to fit your gun..You could stamp or stencel model #numbers and U.S or what ever just to make it look like a real militery storage wooden crate.

Pretty decent workmanship here...a lot of custom crafting and detailing effort was obviously put into it. Great job!!

Are you pressurizing with an air compressor? Do you expect to take pressures higher than 150 psi?

I have shot it at 260 psi, and the hopup will "over hop" but it will sail the ball out to the 300 foot marker. 3 out of 4 shots will head straight for the target, then sail over it and land behind it.

The danger zone is under 75 feet, it will kill you under 25 feet if you are hit in the head. A 56 gram tennis ball traveling at 220 fps is 125.96 joules. It will also crack a car windshield under 25 feet.

its... beautiful *tear*

:D fantastic looking piece of cannon you have there, the green goes reall well with the wood on the grip and stock

and is the sight actually useful, or is it just for show, because with a bit of effort you could have calibrated it before welding it on.

Really nice, but do you realize that the M1A1 is the Thompson Sub Machine gun? Not a bazooka

Sorry, I just looked it up, and you are right.
