it's a diagram of a spring bolt airsoft gun. it's really simple, powerful and you don't have to buy Co2 or pump it's quick to!!!
the bolt slides in the hammer/pump and you pull back, pump follows the bolt until it locks on trigger and you push hammer forward (the pump/hammer stays on trigger) then you lock the bolt in the bolt lock.
AND FIRE!
Ps tell me if you don't get it.
also its nice to have a stock more cumfy ;)

I know the danger of springs is going to be mentioned during this thread, but i say go for it. Behind the bb's, that air stopper would be hard to make in my opinion, and probably isn't that nessesary, but it could boost performance a bit.

Edit: Now that i am thinking about it, i really dont think that stopper would help at all because it would just limit flow and would probably cause bad performance. Correct me if i am wrong though.

Another Edit: Alright, now i think that it would only work if you were using extremely stiff springs. That piston would have to move very far and compress a lot of air to reach that hammer valve, and that small valve would need a stiff spring also to keep that pressure in until hit by the bolt. Final decision... :P But the drawing is probably not drawn to scale... im stopping now.

spring airsoft rifles are relatively cheap and provide good performance without the hassle and dangers of making your own.. I do like making my own guns and I understand, but I really don't think it is worth all the effort for a spring rifle.. I understand if you are from an are where airsoft is illegal and I understand the advantages of spring rifles over a useable power source.

Just my 2 cents.

Rag has a nasty scar on one finger from trying to make a springer.... *waits for rag's input*

so i agree with Davidvaini, buying one is definitely a better option.

That doesn't seem to be a feasible option in Australia.

What exactly do you want from this design? If it's a repeater to be used for skirmishing, I suppose a low powered magazine fed springer would be an ideal choice. For anything else however, a simple pneumatic would offer much higher power potential and be much easier to construct. A combustion launcher would be even easier to make. I would take this into consideration before proceeding with a springer.

the backwards hammer valve won't be able to hold the pressure and open on impact without a super stiff spring in both the valve and the bolt. u'll need a commercial spring press to even get it in place. then u'll need something like a pully system or massive arm muscles to cock it. this wouldn't be very handy against an army of AEGs and GGBs. u would barely leave ur garage (where ever u build stuff) with it.

it's a great theory to test at home or school but it'll get u nowhere in a game.

it would be great if u can prove us all wrong. go for it.
WHY PAY FOR IT WHEN U CAN MAKE IT?

and i posted this so others can either try or find out how it works :)
