I've been looking around and came up with this simple design. It's not that original but it will be my first homemade airsoft rifle. Comments Appreciated. :D

MAKE SURE TO VIEW IN FULLSCREEN

I don't really see anything wrong except your bolt needs to be a piece of pipe that slides in your barrel but lets the air through.

In your design the air will just smack the bolt forward and push the bb, with some more thought you could make a compression chamber and basically have a permanently semi auto airsoft gun.

Although I think what your trying to get at is the former option... Make sure you put in a bolt locking mechanism probably just a little right angle the bolt sits in while loaded.

jonnyboy made some good points. I thought airsoft bb's were 7 mm in diameter, there for needing a barrel bigger then 6mm. 8mm = 5/16th's of an inch, 5/16th's brake line should work good for a barrel. Something to think about.

It is a bit unclear to me how your bolt mechanism works.
Is it manual bolt action?
If so, then you should make sure the bolt can be locked down.

That is an understatement my friend.

@Kevintheguncrazy

Consider spending more time on your diagrams. If we can't understand them, we can't help you. Look at some of the paint diagrams JSR has put up. He does a great job in making them clear and understandable. If you are going to spend as much time making this gun as (i think) you spent on the diagram, It won't turn out very well. Take your time and be patient.

Airsoft bb's are actually about 5.98 mm. :D If you want a nice gun I would buy a tight bore airsoft barrel.6.04 tb barrel 456mm It's a little pricey but will out perform any brake line barrel.

Airsoft bb's are actually about 5.98 mm.
Every container in Wal-Mart says 7mm right on the label. I'll have to get a small bottle and do some investagating.

They shouldn't say 7mm. Airsoft BBs are supposed to be 6mm. High quality BBs will be almost exactly that. The reason Wal-Mart has them so cheaply is that they were a mislabeled batch. :idea:

Hmm I don't know what you could be looking at then... it may be the walmart version with horrible labeling.

Thanks for tips and once again the design was hard to make using a touch pad.By the way it is going to be a manual bolt action rifle.

How are you going to get bb's in the barrel? My terminology isn't great, so do you mean manually loaded? because i've tried that after loosing my magazine, and it's as fiddley as a rude word begining in "F", so even a gravity fed magazine would probably be better (that could be added easy enough)
