like the title says, i was talking to a buddy yesterday who works part time in a machine shop (you can tell where this is going ) he says he is allowed to use the equipment after hours or what not, we got to talking about what to create, a series of 50 or so loud bangs bounced through my head, but they were chased off by thoughts of a decade in a cage. so we were thinking on an all metal, probably aluminum bbmg capable of being safely ran on considerable amounts of regulated co2, since we found a rather large co2 tank with regulator in his dad's barn ... you don't have to spoon feed me, but i can't seem to think of any designs for this since obviously i have only used what a hardware store can supply me with, any ideas would be much appretiated!::worthy::

Why not unregged CO2suture self wrote:so we were thinking on an all metal, probably aluminum bbmg capable of being safely ran on considerable amounts of regulated co2
Honestly, just a metal housing with a barrel on one end and an air supply on the other.
Have a look at --this one--for inspiration

Thanks for the link jack, looks great, and i may do that, the major detractor is bad air efficiency, and since co2 isn't free and requires a 20 mile drive for me, i was hoping to find some type of piston type gun, since we've potentially got access to some serious equipment, including a cnc milling machine, cad, ect. that shouldn't be a problem have any wild ideas? i know you've got some great auto guns under your belt, i can only imagine something like that out of aluminum! 8)

Why don't you do some research?
Just because you have the tools to do the job doesn't mean you don't need the knowledge as well.
A good place to start would be the Showcase. Good luck.
EDIT - More helpful tidbit - you don't need all of this equipment to build a bad machine. Take a look at some of clide's stuff, all done on a mini-lathe.

In that case, have a look at this design. I proved it works and works well, with machine shop access you can make something much neater and more powerful.
