Pipe safe?
Alright. my first cannon was a success " the light saber" which was the old spray n pray type. which was rather more complex with fan and inter graded firing system. but really how advance can it get. I want to move up and create an advance propane chamber, But my only choice of pipe from home depot is various size pipe but anything above 2.5 in says "not for pressure" written on the side. Wondering if this is safe or should i keep searching..? i know its solid pipe. not the half filled with foam stuff. i was going for 3 in chamber.

Try an irrigation or farm supply source. It's safer to use rated pipes. Or even ask them to get it in for you.

Somewhere I have a thread where I test the black stuff.
Generally ABS is ok for standard combustion stuff. PVC is brittle and is prone to shattering.
Here is a thread on testing the Not for Pressure stuff.

yea I was kinda worried about my rifle. after I got it together I was looking at a piece of pipe that was extra from the tank. its 2" sch 40 pressure rated at 280psi...but about a foot away from that it says PVC-DWV...so I'm not really sure what to belive...

Believe the pressure rating. Just because the Letters D W V appear on product doesn't mean it isn't pressure rated. If you see a rating, you're in good shape.boom_o_matic_2.0 wrote:yea I was kinda worried about my rifle. after I got it together I was looking at a piece of pipe that was extra from the tank. its 2" sch 40 pressure rated at 280psi...but about a foot away from that it says PVC-DWV...so I'm not really sure what to belive...

I've seen several videos of combustion cannons blowing up and I am convinced that serious injury, while possible, is actually pretty unlikely. You might lose a finger or something but nothing major should happen.boom_o_matic_2.0 wrote:ok good. I just didnt want my cannon to send shards of plastic into my face at 100psi. lol.
