i was just wondering, sorry if this has been mentioned before already but
i saw this guy on youtube build an air tank outa a 2L bottle
i made a post earlier about a year or two ago about making one
but i dont plan to buy pvc pipes to build it because im broke
but anyways, if i were to build an air tank with a 2l bottle, how would it work
i know i need a scrader valve and an air hose, but how will i be able to connect the air hose to the bottle since the only thing i can really attach to the bottle is to the cap and the schrader valve already takes it up
sorry once again but i didnt know what to search and nothing showed up for me

My advice, dont do it. They are crap and hold like 2 seconds of air for bbmgs.
Yeah, it's that important.

Too long, I think this was the last thing I made.Mr.Sandman wrote:Speaking of which, when was the last time you put that epoxy to work jack?
Between foreign trips, work and generally enjoying Summer I haven't had time for much, I won't even be entering anything in the contest :-/ i thought I'd find time but on Friday I'll be off to the mother Russia to er... visit a friend so my priorities are elsewhere at the moment.
I do however have a "man-sized" pneumatic in the pipeline - after seeing jeepkahn's antics I can't afford to be left out, and we need a big bore lying around at work for "eventualities" - so expect a 1.45" calibre steel-chambered piston valve launcher in the next few weeks

With a good foot or track pump you can do this easily, and the bottle will take it. Look at the ghetto BBMG I linked to above, it's not ideal but it works.
pressure rated pvc pipe is a good start just make sure u check what the pipe is rated too before pressurizing
as for pumping by hand upto 90psi i would not know as i let my copressor do all the work
i think soda bottles will take 150-200psi max before bursting, but someone corret me if im wrong

I used to work in the industry, typically PET bottles for carbonated drinks are required to resist a pressure of 300 psi or so in the headspace between the cap and the fill level. Typically they are good for at least 150 psi filled only with air but the repeated fill/empty cycles during use will stress the material so it's a good idea to change them frequently.FORE!!!! wrote:I think soda bottles will take 150-200psi max before bursting, but someone corret me if im wrong

thanks guys
i guess if bottles are not that reliable, i will get pvc pipes because i plan to make it permanent because i will EPOXY =] the schrader valve and everything to the air tank and if the bottle dies on me, its gonna be a female dog to remove
alright so i was wondering
what is a good size for a pvc air tank 2" 3"?
i will make sure to ask the people who work there if the pvc pipe is pressure rated
btw, how can i get a schrader valve? can they be found inside inner tubings

Depends. If you want to be able to shoot for a long time, make it as big as you're comfortable carrying around. If you think you'll give up pumping it by hand, make it a little smallernosebleedXD wrote:what is a good size for a pvc air tank 2" 3"

i actually have an air compressor but its all the way in the basement and my dad yells at me everytime i take it out so yeah
i just want to build something i can use as an alternative instead of that air compressor which is heavy and loud
i will head over to home depot right now and check after i find out if i can get schrader valves and do i have enough money LOL

In the scheme of a bbmg, bugger all time. You could just buy a large compressor tank (no compressor) and fill that up, and have an airline to your gun..
