Hey i have never made or attempted to make an air gun. I have made a combustion cannon and pneumatic cannon though. I was wondering if you guys would be able to help me build a very simple or a good beginner air gun. I really have no idea where to start. I have looked through some older posts and found that i would probably need a piston and then a co2 tank or something to attach to it? I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure. Other then that i don't know what to get or how to build it. Thanks!

qev stands for Quick Exhaust Valve and is basically a commercially manufactured piston valve that allows you to have the performance you want without having to bother about constructing a fairly finicky valve as a beginner. If you want to use a CO2 fill you will need a regulator to bring the pressure down to a a safe, controllable level, although it can get a bit expensive and difficult so for a beginner I would reccomend just using a bike pump to fill your gun through a tire (schraeder) valve.

Okay, i know i have an air compressor if that would help. :P But what i really need is plans. The air compressor can fill up bike tires so i imagine it would work with a tire valve. So now i know the way i will fill it, right? What else will i need and what size of tire valve? Thanks

here on spudfiles we dont realy give out plans for guns. we call it spoonfeeding. a qev operates the same as a barrel sealing piston valve. there is a sticky about how those work and that will help on how to use them in a gun

Do i still need a qev if i'm going to use a bike pump? And how am i suppose to make plans from scratch? I will try but really have no idea haha

I was told i could use a sprinkler valve instead of a qev since i would have to order it and it would be more costly. I also figured out i'm going to use a over under style gun. Thats about it. I dont know what else i need.

I'm still deciding to use a barrel sealing valve, sprinkler valve, or qev. Any suggestions? Thanks

i have decide on my plans/layout. Over Under Style. I just dont know how big to make the chamber. I also don't know all the fittings and stuff. i could figure it out if i had a chamber size i imagine though.

You joined these forums 01 Nov 2008 and you haven't done enough reading and looking around to be able to at least come up with a basic configuration on your own???

By the way you double posted twice in this thread and that's against the rules!

Read this then read this.

Violating the double posting rule is what got this thread locked, member since 2008 should know better.

There you go, unlocked.

If he said he wanted to build a piston, sprinkler, or qev why do you mention BBMGs
