I have some hopup questions for you: How much do hopups really help bbmgs? Are they necessary with a tightbore barrel? And finally how would I attach one, the one I have (below) is not very conductive to doing so.

Thanks

Oooook. Let's see.

A hop-up helps any BB go father, precision barrel or not. It works by pushing a little piece of rubber against a cylindrical ruber which appears a little at the beginning of the barrel, when the BB passes by, it is slowed down on the upper side (when shot like it is supposed to be) while continuing to accelerate. That gives it a back spin, which in term prevents it from dropping fast.

A BBMG could use one too, you'd certainly get 20-30 meters more range. One little info...degrease every piece of rubber!! A fellow airsoft man once was whining about his 600 € AEG not having a 40 meters range, and when we asked him, he'd put teflon grease EVERYWHERE! SO please, think about what you're doing BEFORE you do it.

As for the "attaching the hop-up" problem...I don't see a whole bunch of products that could do the job except well...epoxy.Remove the big rubber piece from the block. Pass the hop-up block all the way until it is next to the vortex block. take the rubber bucking off, so you can see the barrel from a radial angle. Take a marker, and mark the spot where the bucking presses the big rubber piece. take everything off, put your barrel in a vise, take a grinding machine and make a hole slightly bigger than your bucking, where you'd marked it. With a file, remove everything that is not perfectly smooth. Put the big rubber piece in the hop-up block, put the barrel in the vortex block, then run the hop-up like you precedently did. put the bucking in its place, and tighten each little gear.

Now (if you are still alive and following my little instructions) is the time for tuning. I think you know how to do this. Start at zero hop-up and increase slightly until you get the perfect result. (flat trajectory and best range)

Hope this helps a little.....
