i just thought it would be good because you can use wood to make your own gun shape =]

wood is my best resource since i have tonnes of random wood in my basement

and last thing is, is air leak an issue for this gun or etc etc

i made a gun just like this except with cardboard since i do not have aluminum

Hadn't seen it, and can't really because apparently now you have to be a member to see things people painstakenly post so others will see.

Any how, the design is seriously flawed IMO, in that the enormous hopper
will not only eat most of the firing pressure volume but also will be filled to same pressure as the vortex!!! (stupid!!!) (is the hopper even rated to 125 or so PSI???)

Other than that, pretty cool basic votex (besides having an oversized 1.5" vortex which could've easily been lined with metal). 8)

Not massively special. Good effort (the guy who made it) but ghetto, not huge performance and average aesthetics.

i was planning to make a vortex cap but i just thought this idea was much better because you can add a handle and everything

i was just wondering, is this idea bad because of the hopper attached to the vortex cap or etc

I'd ditch the hopper unless you made it smaller and from a better material.

Have a look through the showcase, there's plenty of examples.\

With some work and different materials this could be a very workable design.

i tried making an inline vortex, i have no spring =[ and it aint as efficient because my pipe is 1.5" DWV

i can barely make a decent diameter vortex block

the bb's are not able to slip into the hole of the vortex because they get caught on the edge or w.e

i will try my gun i made tomorrow

and upload some pics and we will see how it goes

lawl i build the gun today, its not as bad as it looks but it fired like all 20 bullets i had in one second of holding onto the trigger [maybe not even a second]

my inline vortex was not able to do this for some reason

but anyways i was just wondering, are .6 mm and 12 gram bb's able to shoot through a can?

i shoot at 80-90 psi but im not able to shoot through a can maybe cause all the bb's shoot out really quick

perhaps i need to fill at least a good couple hundred bb's?

because every time i shoot my gun i only good about no more than 10-20

=] trying to conserve my bullets and the fact that it gets everywhere all over my basement and i have to pick them all back up

are there any suggestions on targets i can build of which i can shoot and retrieve all my bullets

i tried shooting through a paper no problem tho

The poor mans chronograph is based on 0.2g airsoft bb's, so retry it with them if you want reliable results from "shooting at a can".

Build something similar to a pellet trap (search). Or even just use a piece of fabric to slow the BB's so they can fall into a box. With the box I have set up a thick jumper will stop a 9.6mm bearing at 400 psi dead 100% of the time. However, if the jumper is taught, leaning on the back plate or if the target is touching it the bearing will go straight through the back plate and pull the jumper through with it.
