k i built the vortex cap, pics will be up tomorrow
btw i am having trouble with the barrel
i just drill a hole and put the barrel in its a bit too big the whole i drilled so it wobles up and down i glued it down but i don think its the best solution
whats the proper way of installing a barrel?
and my barrel is just a random steel tube used in window curtains etc

Yes and no.noname wrote:I hope you understand that your film canister gun is essentially a sideways cloud.
Yes because his barrel is not flush with the curvature of the film canister. Therefore the vortex of air that is created will have a harder time chambering each BB into the barrel.
No, because the shape of the film canister re-directs the air in a circular manner causing a vortex. But like I said above.. the barrel is not aligned properly and will negate all the effects of the vortex that is created by the shape of the film canister.
This pictures shows the right and wrong way to align your barrel and air inlet:
This is a very crucial part in the design of a vortex cap. if your barrel is not flush, you will get a lot of BB's that don't go into the barrel the first time they have been spun around. The ideal situation is that every time a BB spins around the circular shape of the vortex cap or block it gets chambered into the barrel.
Not only does this increase ROF of your BBMG, but it also increases efficiency. It increases efficiency because regardless of weather a BB has been chambered or not, the air is still going to go out the barrel.. so you might as well have a BB going out with the air as well.
Maybe I'll have another go at making one of these!? my first attempt did not feed at all, it didnt aggitate the bbs about for some reason?? I was using .177 Steel bb's in mine though and just would not fire?.........

hey thanks alot davidvaini
i believe i have to rebuild my whole actual vortex cap gun then
i am having trouble drilling it the correct way
the drill would slip right off when i am trying to drill it the correct way and i end up drilling myself
is there any tips on how to drill it perfectly measurements etc etc
btw i used a 1.5" DWV cap because i couldnt find a 1 inch at my home depot
is it too big or etc etc
i haven't really seen how an actual vortex cap itself
i've seen the p90 vortex cap one but i dont see how the cap itself is actually drilled etc etc
also i've been looking at this one

now i realise the 1.5" cap is WAY too big =[
