Need?? what does need have to do with it? why do you NEED a cell phone, why do you NEED a spudgun. I have them because I want them, and they are an ideal means to pursue dangerous or delicious tree's!

You know what they say about ammo, buy it cheap, stack it deep;when you think you have enough you better double it. I have a few pallets worth, but I certainly could use a few more

Nice collection there, off the top of my head I see a FAL and G3 of some version or other, Saiga rifles and shotgun, Mosin-Nagant carbines, carbon-15 AR pistol, various 1911s, springfiled xd, CZ75, glock, beretta bobcat, ruger 22/45 and p89, something that looks awfully like a PPK but probably isn't, sig p226... gah, why don't I live in the states?!

two sks but now make 10 i am disapointed and u dont have a 50 cal sniper or 50 cal desert eagle u need to get one out of the three. nice museme u got goin so far

1) 50 BMG is illegal in California. No can do.
2) Have you ever actually held a Desert Eagle? Way back when it was only available in .44 Mag I thought I wanted one. Then I held one and realized that unless you have the hands of a gorilla, it was a lost cause. Seriously, there's no way I could safely handle that gun; my hands are simply too small (and while I can't palm a basketball, I don't have small hands either). And in those few moments any urge to own the gun dissolved. It's simply an impractical gun for probably greater than 95% of the people out there due to nothing more than it's physical size.

Ever play with flintlocks? I've got one (nothing old, a POS kit... barely even consider it a gun). Never before had I gotten a big smile from the very fact that the gun *fired*. You really feel like you've accomplished something just to get it to go bang.

I have to say, I find the "reasons" for the 2nd amendment somewhat questionable. I'm of the opinion that the fact that the population is armed doesn't often factor in the government's decisions.

Also, I think "they're to keep the government in line" is an excuse - if I were a betting man, I'd probably put money on the fact that few gun owners actually own guns with that (honestly) in mind.

Agree, but whether they do or don't that doesn't erase an armed populace's existance as the final check and balance in our government.

It's not the reason why I have a collection, but there are certain guns in my collection that are there for that reason and no other.

The constitution was revolutionary as a social contract. Only then did you see conformism to this nature of portrayed social interest in other countries.

While you may think the idea of firearms to be an convoluted method of social interest preservation, I may say it is two zero zero nine. In time line relativism firearms were used, and embodied a means of checked control.

Today I don't see firearms playing the role of social interest mechanism against government, but a means of defense. Domestic and foreign. I do think it's odd that this mass occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan has materialized a similar citizens base choice to use firearms also as a mechanism of social preservation.

As it stands I see the firearm base in the United States serving one purpose today, one mentioned above, fending occupation. If such a thing were to happen, scrabble wouldn't describe the resistance. Living in southern Utah it is alive and well. May I note the city of Virgin, Utah (five minutes out from here) that has mandatory gun ownership.

Ive never used a flint lock. I have a kentucky rifle, which was a kit, but its a percussion rifle. I have a ruger old army single action BP pistol. Its alot of fun like i said, it just takes forever to load.
