You might remember a couple of months ago I got my hands on a lovely surplus 1" pop-off valve. Well, I finally got round to modding it and here's how the testing went Ignore the random fittings, I was just in a hurry to hook it up to my compressor...

Note how as always, altering the flow alters the rate of fire. My cellphone's noise filter refuses to show how ear-splittingly loud this is!
Anyway, expect a marble autocannon soon
Here's a pic of the mods I made, basically a 40mm PVC insert with an appropriate outlet cut in and custom cast epoxy/rubber piston reinforced with a steel washer.

As mentioned in the original post:JDP12 wrote:Wow.. Very nice. What can we expect to see that utilizes this?
Working on it as we speak, considering the testing was done without a real chamber, it should be quite impressive. I should have it done in a couple of days.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Anyway, expect a marble autocannon soon

I'd like to see it with a blowforward bolt... you mention it all the time but I can't say I was satisfied with it when I tested the idea... so I wonder if it can be built in the right way??I should have it done in a couple of days

I'm going with a simple tee breech first, if that doesn't work I'll bother with a BFV.

So you've finally come around to using this beast... awesome.
What kind of loading mechanism are you planning to use?

As above, simple tee mag feeding marbles from a vertical tube, maybe 15-20 round magazine should be enough, and an o-ring detent though this is just to stop them rolling out, as the marbles are irregular aren't an extremely tight fit in the closest barrel I have.psycix wrote:What kind of loading mechanism are you planning to use?

Blocker bolt would solve all your problems except simplicity..
Also, a loading system like I used on my original Marble Machine Gun would work very well with this..
Nice work..does it pop or does it make lazor soundz like in the vid?
I'm about to buy 4 diving bottles to make good use of my fridgy..so..expect more full auto stuff from me too.
It will be nice to compare this thing to what I have in mind...

I've shortened the chamber to about 25% of the above, as the flow wasn't sufficient to cycle the valve at higher pressures. Testing due some time tomorrow evening, watch this space
