Im confused on your question, are you asking how it works or if it works? Please be more specific.
Yeah, it's that important.

Mostly looking for feedback. From my point of view, it would work, but is there a way to make it more efficient? Just asking for opinions on the design.

I think it will work. it looks really cool too. But wouldn't you feel better if you made your own design for a paintball howitzer? i know i would. still really cool though.

Yeah, it'll work. I say go for it. To improve preformance change out the pilot for a sprinkler valve...

It isn't a piston valve :P

This is a pretty bad design though, lots of dead volume, too much chamber volume etc. Just get a 1' of 4" PVC, attach a sprinkler valve and a 6' barrel and performance would probably be pretty similar.

Wow, that complex of a design is pointless with all the dead volume :P
It's sort of wierd to think about a co-ax without a piston, I've never seen that before

Yeah I'm sorry. My brain accidentally said pilot. I meant the real valve... The first ones poeformance could be improved by changing the valve out for a sprinkler... Just not as big of one as in the second pic...

ive actually got an over-under one right now. 2' of 2" for chamber then a 1" modified sprinkler and then a 3' by 2" long barrel. First one i made. Its not that im copying that design, i just cant seem to wrap my head around piston design, so seeing this style coaxial is something id want to look in to.

This seems to be built for use in paintball, and "absolute" power is not required...or desired.

The concessions made toward power production, have made possible a rather simple yet workable breech loading method. This MAY aid rate of fire, which can't hurt.

All in all, I'd say it's very well thought out for its purpose, and I'll give 'em two thumbs up. :)

The Bergles Cannon was built for the sole purpose of placing a decent launcher inside a paintball tank. It does it job and it does it quite well. It is intended to allow the launcher to be breech loaded with ease. A coaxial could do this, but then the entire valve setup would need to be moved in order to load from the rear.

In terms of dead space, disregarding the 4 way cross, anything else dead space or unneeded?
