Hi Everyone.

Im in the build (Design stage atm) of a realistic Semi-Automatic Co2 powered Pistol.

I have started blue-printing my design, and it's coming along Beautifully.

It will have a magazine which inserts into the grip/handle of the pistol & a area for the Co2 cannister. It will be firing either ball bearings or Bb pellets if im able to get my hands on some (In Australia it's hard to get anything :( ..) -sips Green Tea-

The material will be metal and abit of plastic here and there & thinking of making the grips in the handle out of wood?...
I have access and knowledge of machining equipment.
Currently finishing Cert l & ll in Furnishing and Engineering.

This is the start of the build. Will keep it updated and pictures too come soon.

Thanks.

dude, where are you getting CO2 in oz?? i, in my 18 years of existence, have only seen four, 12 gram co2 canisters.

you should extend the barrel, and make a wire stock; turning your pistol into a carbine.

Is this your first project??

Update: Just did my design up electronicly.

Thats will be the sizing and over-all Lay out.

Reply to chinnerz: In those 18 years you've been under a rock, your able to buy 12g Co2 cannisters from hobbie stores, bike shops... Ebay!. Everywhere.

Yes, this is my first real project. Iv made other design and constructed them. But, this will be the real deal.

nice. That looks somewhat like a glock. When people speak of a design, they are usually referring to the moving bits inside. :D

But for something like this, you need to design the moving bits in such a way that they fit inside something usable. Now that you have that, the hard part begins...

Good Luck!

Thanks ramses. That's correct, every millimeter counts. I have the Blue-prints nearly done for the internal mechanism. Will keep updated.

That's quite cool!

My 2 cents about the design: looking at the grip, where the web of your hand will rest, i think that part should be more curved rather than having it so...... angled :P i dont know what cad you are using, by perhaps try adding a fillet with radius 10.

about CO2, i live in the ACT, the most sheltered of all Australian cities... and since not many products which pass the non lethal barrier use CO2 you can imagine why its so rare here..... so about that rock, its true, that i am living under one,, but what you may not know is the shear size of this rock casts a shadow of sadness over this whole Territory. O look, I'm ranting again :P

But yeah, i agree with Ramses, the hard part begins now. This is a really "gutsy" first 'real' build; i am really interested in this project, and you can bet ill be following this every step of the way.

Good luck buddy.

Yes, that design is just a Lay-out (for the mesurments) ... I'll be manufacturing a plastic or wooden attachment that will provide comfort and style to the handle. I'll do up a Fit-out, to keep you happy.

Even though the area you live in, there should be Co2 cannisters available. There on ebay. Non-illegal.

Hey.

Just did a Fit-Out. Will look similar to this, Black area is plastic and the Brown is wood. Haven't decided to make that bit wood or plastic.

Making such a pistol is the holy grail for me!!!, Im in Australia too mate :D after my other guns had been seen, Im allways asked by mates and guys at work if I can make them an Air Pistol!.

Ive tried for years to figure out how to scale down to pistol size and run co2 ( preferably unregged) but im yet to find a valve small enough to handle 800 psi!.Running such a small length barrel you want the psi as high as possible or power would be piss weak!, 12 gram Co2 bulbs can be bought at any firearms store without any licence shown.

Im hugely interested in seeing what you'll be using for internals as ive tried for so long to do this!, even if I could get a QEV VALVE and POPPET VALVE to handle unregged Co2 you still have to contend with the sheer size of running an air chamber for the QEV............

i think you should look at the TFS-semi(cant find the spudfiles link) its basically what you want, not to hard to make and all parts can be shipped to aus

im actually trying to make a marble size one now but need a 3way can cant use my bros credit card till he get back for vacation, three months away :(

We'd never get the Palmer reg through customs,This still requires air/co2 from an external source that has to be carried about= Im trying to avoid that. I wanted a self contained powersource eg 12 gram co2 but have never figured out how to do it  .
