Hi i have a simple (sry im new here) question about a QEV for a semi-auto airsoft gun that i might build. Would this QEV work? If it won't, then what will?

Also (sorry, another noob question), what do the A, P, and R stand for on the side of the valve (I'm guessing that the P means pilot, but im not sure on the A or R. Any answers would be great. thanks

It would work, but I would go with this one.
The P is pilot, the opposite is the barrel and the bottom port is for the chamber. No question is too nooby, remember that. :wink:

No, but I know that the same system is/was used for DCVs
(technically speaking a QEV can be considered as a DCV - if you've got more time than you should have you might even find a symbolic representation of it as a DCV)
The directional control valve is represented by the number of controlled connections, the number of positions and the flow path. In order to avoid faulty connections, all the inputs and outputs of a valve are identified.

A numbering system is used to designate directional control valves and is in accordance with ISO 5599 (Draft). Prior to this a lettering system was utilized

Pressure port -> P
Exhaust port -> R
Signal outputs -> A

I don't know if it is any better but the kind I linked to are commonly used. I would trust it more.

i would buy the rectangle one. seems easier to make fit into a gun design.

Realistically, both will work just fine.

Good luck
