A combustion mix cartridge can be something really simple and light (for example a toilet roll sealed off with tape) as opposed to a pressurised container that needs to be strong enough to hold the pressure and containing a similarly strong burst disk holder.

Come to think of it a PET soda bottle can be modified to suit the above.

Another idea I've toyed with in the past was using a 12g cartridge in the projectile itself. I know it isn't combustion based, but it's still a thought. I remember back in the day some friends and I used to make little wooden cars that were propelled by the powerlets and those things used to zip along pretty good. My plans were to make like an RPG but it could work as a mortar.

I've just started looking at some stuff I've had laying around and i'm wanting to build this again, but I only have electrical conduit, Metal electrical conduit, and i have no pvc end caps -.- also not sure how to make a shell fit this, since i want to actually use it in a non official game. What i mean is a shell that will stay together long enough to give it good distance, but not hurt anyone if it lands on them. i was thinking cardboard tubing, but idk were i would find it for 2"

I have been looking around but i'm not sure how I can fuel this in the field. I'm actually not sure how i'm going to fuel it at all, i was thinking of syringe but i'm not sure how i would close the small hole i would put in it to fuel it.

EDIT 3: Not sure what type of ammo to use. I was thinking of a wad with bb's but i also was thinking of a tennis ball (then relized it wouldn't fit) Would duct tape ball's be to hard to use as indirect fire, or should i keep searching.

EDIT 4: Test fired today, no ignition so I'll have to pick up a syring and do some metering (I was testing spray and pray to see noise output). I used HGDT to figure 37.7 cubic inches for a chamber, with 4% fuel. This came out to 24.71ml of fuel needed if anyone can double check my math.
