I downloaded a free version of crono connect from play store, after tooling around with it playing with settings, making noises (eeeee awwww) I put it to test. Seemed pretty comprehencive even being free version, down to ballistics for a very wide range of air pellets.
To start I had 5.5mm chrome steel balls with 6mm eastern elite arrow blank 360>480fps at 200psi now with 6mm chrome steel ball 460>589fps. Works via measuring projectile path and sound meter. Has anyone used this/debunked? App? Samsung store me thinks, there is no i in Samsung
free chrono app really works??

I had tried the technique described here and it worked pretty well: http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/homemad ... 12521.html
No substitute for a proper chrony though, you can get one for $100 or so and its a worthwhile investment.

I've run it against an airsoft chrono, the gun was a stock Well MB08, with the hopup turned off completely. Over a meter, it was precise to 15fps (note precision = data spread, accuracy = precision and on target), at 10 it was even more so, 10fps. But because I was only using .25s (didn't want to waste my Goldenballs), and there was a bit of wind, the BB obviously lost a fair bit of speed.
It won't work with supersonic rounds, .22 Z rounds were a bit iffy, and the owner of the chrono wasn't keen on shooting a rifle through it, since it was an enclosed sort, it's fair enough. It also doesn't work for slingshots (no distinct release noise), AEGs and strafers (too much noise), and blowguns (same as slingshots).
So overall a capable little app for air rifles, .22s and airsoft. Make sure you divert the pilot if you've got a gun which has a noisy pilot.
