I'm looking for a good multi-stage PCP pump capable of filling an approx 20 CI chamber to 35 bar/500 psi in under 2 minutes.

So far this seems like the best option: http://www.pyramydair.com/s/a/Benjamin_ ... _Guns/2222

Does anyone know of something better? Also, is there a formula I can use to estimate fill time based on the characteristics of my chamber and a given pump?

If you're looking for only 500 PSIG there are quite a few air conditioning compressors out there which will work well enough. The compressor I pulled out of a window unit could go quite high (~600 PSIG) before starting to stall.

That would be nice, but I lack the tools or knowledge to modify one, and they aren't exactly readily available when I go spudding over the summer (cabin in the middle of nowhere). Surely a multi-stage pump for a chamber volume like mine at those pressures isn't that crazy?

No, it's not that crazy.

There exists on this forum a two-stage homemade PCP pump... it will take a little digging to find, I'll edit this post when I do.

You can also buy multi-stage PCP pumps, but they're optimized for pressure and not volume, so 500 PSI will be a little slower than a purpose-built pump... compare it to using a crowbar to lift a mere 45 lb. ammo can instead of just picking it up. :)

There it is! I admit the new version of search is a little too finicky to use my former skillz on...
