This is my first post on Spudfiles. This is my simple yet powerful combustion cannon. It is all made with PVC Pressure rated pipe and uses a BBQ sparker. Its main ammo is golf balls but i use polystyrofoam plugs as well too shoot anything from rocks to spears.

Please feel free to comment or ask questions about the cannon.

I am planing to make a pneumatic cannon in the next couple of weeks so any tips/pointers/suggestions would be muchly appreciated!!! :D :D :D

Damn! Thats strong for being so small! Use the barrel for you pnuematic and it would be way stronger than this. Dont shoot at street signs and put a shirt on. Please.

Speaking of which, will sprinkler valves preform reasonably well in an un-modded state?

Its ok, but it will reduce the power, and flow. It's something you want to avoid.Image

edit: did you use primer at all, or was it the clear kind?

i would definatly reccomend modifying the sprinkler valve, it makes it so much more powerful for only a few dollars extra.

Those are some nice shots. Did the tree have the red marks a few days after or like immediatly? That is really cool. Great job for your first cannon it has a cool design and is very clean. Where did you get 40mm pipe? I guess you don't live in the U.S.

Thats a realy nice looking cannon... Good Job.
I recomend modding the sprinkler. By the time you buy the switches the box the wiring and the electronics it prob would be the same price to get a fitting and a airgun anyway. And if you did a gas through stock it would reduce the efficiancy.

Basically, i just repeated what other people said but i didnt realize that till after i wrote it :-D

Dang that looks quite nice! The chamber seems a bit small. With a larger chamber you will get more power and you might be able to put a hole in that road sign.
