just wondering if anyone could shed some light on a topic i been wondering about

would a sprinkler valve or piston valve give more power?

if the same PSI and barrell and chamber volumes were the same

cheers

I'd have to say "it depends" - with a barrel diameter lower than .75" or .6", a 1" spirinkler valve will give you better preformance. The reason for this is that our valves have a flow of about 40-50% efishency times the inner diameter of the pipe, and the sprinker valves have a flow of about 30% times 1". Thus, to figure out the diameter that gives you the same flow as a 1" sprinkler:
1*.3 = X*.4
.3 = X*.4
.3/.4 = X
