I wanted to build an airsoft shotgun. I want it to be multishot...IE spread fire. But I dont want to have to hand pump the thing with a bike pump (I already have a few of those) I want it to cock and fire. Might there be a way to convert one of the newer nerf guns like the one at walmart, I cant think of the name right now but its a rifle looking gun with a magazine loader. Otherwise, I got CO2 and one of those CO2 bike pumps, So idea are great here, I dont even mind trying to build somthing that would take those mini propane canisters you use on mini grills. NOT COMBUSTION just propane powered, just trying to figure out a way to shot more that one shot, (like 5-9) and still get decent power (IE around 30-50FT) I got a nerf titan, but that thing you gota pumpI want to build somthing that is either CO2 Powered, Perferably Spring cocked. Idea are most welcome, I dont really want to shell out that cash to buy a real airsoft version (I got bills to pay) and besides building stuff is way more fun

Google “bolt sniper” he’s got free plans to make this nerf assault gun (I refuse to call it a rifle as it’s not rifled) fallow the plans but instead of shooting nerf darts load the shells with soft air BBs. Or make a smoothbore version of the gun I’m planning on making after the first of the year: paintball RIFLE
Make it a revolving scattergun, do not fallow my design it won’t work for you. You get the idea… you’ll need a bigger chamber than what I’ve got I’ll let you do the math

No problem, actually I’ve been thinking about how to do this for awhile. You see my friend likes air soft, I like paintball, but I have yet to find a gun I like for ether sport, so I decided to make a .68cal air rifle for paintball which could also, in theory, be used for air soft. I’m interested to know which you use, and why you want a scattergun for air soft.

But if you didn’t how do you plan on using a paintball marker for air soft?
I’ve got an idea on how to turn a paintball marker into a semi-automatic soft air scatter gun, if you want to know just ask otherwise I’ll save my time

I was just going to take the paintball marker but on a barrel and make a few shells from PVC and aluminum. inside of each shell will be a few aluminum tubes that will house a bb. When fired the co2 will run though the barrel and spit out the bbs that were in the shell, its really simple, just add a barrel, and modify the gun to make it do what you want, and since paintball markers shoot a "heavy" and large paintball (compaired to an airsoft bb) it should be no trouble getting it to fire a couple of bb's pretty far. Oh and just for shits and giggles does any one know what the pressure of a paintball gun that uses 12g co2 cylinders? And no I didn't do a search that why I was just wondering not making a new post about it. Peace,

Don’t know the pressure in a 12g Co2 marker. You using a slide action marker?
Here’s an idea for ya: make a custom barrel out of ¾” CPVC, it fits nicely in most paintball markers, and about, oh say, three inches from the breach cut a three inch section out of the barrel take two couplers and ream ‘em out and glue ‘em together to from a short section of pipe that slides o’er you barrel. Slide the couplers onto the barrel to were they cover the hole you cut in it, cut a small piece of pipe about one inch long and a quarter inch thick, drill a hole in the end, and glue it to the couplers. Know take some heavy gauge wire and attach it to the sliver of pipe attached to the couplers, know if you have an auto-loader attach the other end of the wire to the cocking lever (note: this may not work for a top cocker, it was designed for a tipman 98c. but with a little ingenuity it could be made to work.) if you have a slide action just cut a slit in the barrel underneath the slide. For ammo take a scrap of pipe with the same ID as your barrel and roll a piece of paper about three inches long by two inches wide length wise and slide it into the pipe and tape it into a tube, stuff a piece of tissue into the pipe and pack it down pore in some BBs and place another wad on top, remove it from the pipe and you done.

I got a 30$ walmart Double Eagel Ghost paintball marker that runs on 12g co2 cylinders. I made "shells" from 12bb's and tin foil, when the cos hits the tinfoil shell it explodes and sends 12 bb's flying, very effective. I had a game on sunday and it worked really well. It was kinda funny, after people got hit they had the most bewildered look on thier faces, like what the hell just happened, Becuase they just got pelted by 12bbs. lol.

How do you load them? Ain’t never heard of the double eagle ghost, is it any thing like the talon? How does it pattern at 30 yards? Why do I ask so many questions? Why did I ask this question? I think I should stop asking questions, don’t you?

What ever talon double eagle if you know what I mean that what matters. Anyway... Pattern at 30 yards I get a cone of I would say 3ish FT. Depends on the shell and how the bbs where packed, But over all it works really well shoots (with no hopup) almost as far as my P90 (marui clone) I dont judge distance very well so My p90 shoots 280-300FPS if that gives you a distance. So 12 bb's going 280FPS each is not bad. I calculated a theroretical yeild velocity of each bb, by finding how many jewels the Paintball maker can output, (250 FPS with paintballs weighing in at 3.2g) its about 8.7 Joules. So 8.7/12 = .725J for each bb. @ .12g each that works out to be about 365FPS per bb so its got a punch.

Math…you did divide the energy by the amount of BBs, right? Or do you need to? Math’s not my strongest subject… so how do you load your shells? Muzzle loaded, or breach? 3foot pattern at thirty yards? Put a longer barrel on it and choke it. Choking means decreasing the bore diameter at the muzzle, incase you didn’t know.

I like the spread, that the reason I wanted a shotgun. It has a really short barrel. The equation is like this

Energy(Joules) = 1/2Mass(Kg) * Velocity^2(M/s)

I just took the Fps and the wieght of a paintball converted to metric and solved, its plug and chug. Now that I have the total amount of energy I divided that by the amount of crap I got in there. The only reason We can divide and get a new number is because of energy is conservered. Of couse there is going to be energy loss due to the wieght of the tin foil and its tensil strength, friction blah blah. But it is not that much, and I get a pretty good idea how my gun will behave. GOt any more math questions just ask.

EDIT, and the way I load shells, since its a paintball gun I used the hopper. I made the "shells" like paintballs, they are round like a paint ball and about the same diamiter so they just load though the top like paintballs !!
