No cannon in here could be classed as a sniper anything whatever the ammo.

Anyway, my personal most accurate ammo is a nail with the head sawn off and replaced with a fluffy tail of completely unravelled string.

The nail is ~3mm by 3" and the tail is about 2" The fluffiness of the tail fits a 4mm barrel pretty well.

On impact the fluffy tail mushrooms out with the inertia so if you colour it you can get a flash of say red on impact.

Are you kidding me?

Sheesh.

Ok, clamp the nail in a vice really tightly and saw off the head with a hacksaw.

If you dont have a vice you have a problem because nails are small, hard and fiddly.

A pair of pliers and a dremel could be used as well.

Actually, if the guy that uses it is a sniper, then technically it would be a sniper gun/cannon. And if you could take a smoothbore home-brew airgun (those things people round these parts call “snipers”) and hit a target six inches square at 100+ yards 100% of the time, then I wouldn’t have a problem if you called your self a sniper, and your gun a sniper’s gun.
And just because you have a gun that has bean used as a “sniper rifle” (like the Remington model 700) doesn’t mean your gun is a “sniper rifle” unless you your self are a sniper.

By “how do you saw the head off a nail?” I think he meant “do you use a Dremel or a hacksaw?” at least I hope that’s what he meant.
But by head do you mean the point or the other end? And what kind of nail are you using? And most important, what the heck do you mean by 4mm barrel, do you mean 4.5mm or are you talking about something else???

use a grinder and grind the head off, hold the nail and dremel the head off, clamp the nail and hacksaw the head off, smash the head off, or make it smaller with a hammer.

i saw these things that looked like darts without fins at a hardware store and they fly great, and accurate with some cotton on the the end as a stabilizer.

If you are gonna use bb's then dont use the cheap ones that have a little notch thing on them where the plastic is formed, they wont hit anywhere near where you aim the gun. Either use steel pellets of the proper airsoft bb's (seamless). But the nail idea also works great.

I wonder if golf tees would work well?? If they tumbled you could add weight to the front to make them more stable.

YAY! 400th post!
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

Most people refer to that flat bit of a nail/the bit you hit as the head.

I mean a section of a collapsible fibreglass tent pole with a 4mm diameter hole down the middle where an elastic cord is meant to be. I rig those to my cannon by sealing one end in a section of 15mm copper pipe then fixing that on with a compression fitting.

No one talks about the OD of a barrel.

anyone ever cosider making a hop-up for a marble gun? i know that in airsoft guns it increases accuracy and allows you to take the role of a "sharpshooter", so why not use it on marlbes. it should work the same, seeing as its just bernoili's principle (spelled his name wrong, i have no clue how to spell his name) by the way, a hop-up is really just making a little peice of an O ring jut into the top of the barrel near the back.......
