I love all those Lee Child books. (Gotta love them mindless thrillers)

I'm just reading Cold Mountain now, just finished The Killer Angels, both very good civil war books.

Just finished reading Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass for probably the tenth time (this time for school). Great book.

hi wrote:read INTO THIN AIR its about some guys that climb MT everest and just about everything goes wrong. Its a really good book.
I'm pretty sure I read this... tell me if I'm wrong but the most memorable part for me was when the guy got back from the mountain, went to his room a smoke weed. also on the mountain the people filming for imax gave out extra cylinders of oxygen....I didn't like this book

please tell me WHY you liked the books you liked, noones going to pick up a book simply because you tell them to.

I hope they serve beer in hell is def my favorite book, it's a bunch of true stories this one man experiences, mostly sex/alcohol/shit humor. I constantly laughed throughout the read.

some of his stories are on www.tuckermax.com

Pyro, get off your lazy ass and look up the synopsis's on the books that may interest you. I cannot be expected to type up 35 pages on my recommendations, when I don't even know what types of books you enjoy.

Cheers :)

theres no reason for you to recommend a book, but if you do why not pick your ONE favorite and write a quick review? just to make this clear anyways this thread isn't just about me, mine as well make this a discussion about all good books so that everyone can get input/recommendations.

not sure what the equivalent of a cheers is but .... see ya later?

I read this book called House, it was pretty good. We all need some short little book about a psycopath every now and then.
I read a bunch of Asimov books, they're good, and a lot of his short stories really make you think. (What if robots gained a sense of humor? What if robots could think? so on and so forth)
I read the Redwall series when I was younger, I liked those.

I enjoy the classics. 20,000 leagues under the sea by Jules Verne is a pretty good read. Although, I don't know how many other people will like it due to its (for lack of a better term) lack of plot. However, I feel that Jules Verne is a good writer and an interesting view of the future (mind you he wrote his books in 1870).
Treasure Island was good, so was the three musketeers. I would recommend them.

hmmm

pretty much anything by
Louis L'amour (westerns)
Micheal crichton. (sci-fi)
Clive cussler (action adv)
W.E.B. Griffin (awesome author, mostly war & military novels)
Stephen hunter (wrote the book that new movie "shooter" is based on)
james w Huston (this guy makes you THINK!)

I also like to pick up the novelization of the comic book movies that come out (i.e. spider man 1-3, fantastic four, the hulk etc ) I know whats gonna happen in the third spidey movie even though it ain't come out yet! LOL

I just finished reading an awesome book, A Walk in the Woods, by Bill Bryson. Its a hilarious tale of two guys who try to hike the appalachian trail.
