How many people use cellular core ABS in combustions? Barely any from what I have seen. And its almost impossible to have a defect in a pipe, in the factory they check the pipe with really high tech stuff. And ABS is very durable, it would not crack or anything when dropped.
Cellular core is fine for a barrel but not chamber.

With normal propane/air, no.
I guess if you use something like acetylene or hydrogen with a large chamber it is possible, but it obviously wont be good for your health.

OK Mr.dude it is . I was very interested in your story and I'm glad you were not injured. Every one on the site went into an uproar over the
materials that were used or could be used. The debate on cell core,ABS,
PVC and everyother thing we can make launchers with.
I thought it was important to find out if the projectile exited the barrel.
Do you think that your load jamed in the barrel and did not exit properly? Since the load only flew 40 ' was it jamed or did the gun fail first.
In a shot gun all it takes is some snow stuffed in the barrel to have failure of the barrel. I saw it happen once on a rabbit hunt.
I hear all the time people wanting to stuff things down their barrels that might not end up flying.I think that could blow up a combustion launcher
like the shot gun. Frankrede says no, I'm not so sure.

Solid wall is more common, I haven't been here very long and the majority of cannons were made from solid wall.

I ahve been on this site, and trust me, solid wall may be common in your area but it isn't in most areas. Solid wall is a regional thing.

Fom,
That doesn't mean solid wall is more common. All of my cannons are solid wall pvc, but it took me months to find 3" and 4" pressure rated pipe and I had to buy it in bulk (I'm still working wiht the stuff I bought a year ago). All my home depot and lowes have is cellular core when you get past 2" diameter pipe, and all the ABS is cellular core no matter what the diameter; I have yet to see any solid wall ABS.
