Just a quick question did you use the srprinkler valve for:
1. Because they are easier to amke then piston valve?
2. Dont need the high performance of a psiton valve?

I guess I can answer that(sorry Blue if I get it wrong).Yes they are easier to build with and they help with modularity,the Paintball enviroment is hard on equipment.For traveling teams the ability to buy a valve from the local hardware store is a must.Murphy's Law always prevails.Finally the nerf can only travel 230fps. so performance is not too much of an issue.That is why I use a sprinkler valve for my paintball cannons and pistons for my spud guns.

For my backyard I'm going to try a howler. I have researched and some say I will have to modify the plastic whistle but it will work great. However, paintball field owners & big scenario game promoters generally shy away from anything other than the general 2" Nerfs

For Vietnam Patrol, the promoter will be limiting the Demo players to 2 per tank fielded. I'm unsure how much armor will be at this game, unlike the MPP game and of course Fulda Gap later this year. If you plan on playing as a grenadier I would suggest you place a comment on the registration form that your wish to "Lay down the LAW" and be one of the allowed Nerf launchers.

My neighbor and I were playing around with this one last night. He had the biggest grin while saying “man, I got to build me one.” I may have to suggest a piston for him.

Not sure which side I will be on. I generally play the bad guy, but I think the North Vietnamese will have more armor this scenario so I may have to go American.

At a paintball store an in-line regulator generally costs between $40 and $100+. The one I used here cost me $62.
If anyone is considering using a reg like the one I used make sure to call the manufacture’s tech support. Some paintball regs will not go below 200 psi.
