But, it wouldn't matter if it was filled with HPA instead of CO2??

Thanks

Why not use welding CO2 and a welding regulator. Cheaper, and will last a while.

Well, my dad can fill tanks up to 1200 psi (with compressed air) at his work, so I could ask him just bring it to his work in the morning every once and a while. Just to save a bit of ca$h. But... Back to my question, would a co2 tank hold 1200psi of compressed air instead of co2?

Thank you for all of your replies

I don't see why it wouldn't work.

scope and mac/ pistol man NO!!!! that tank can't be filled to that high. Those type of tanks are for low pressure CO2. The type you want are normally made out of carbon fiber or fiberglass. Look on www.tippmannpros.com for that high pressure type under the tanks section. If you use the other type you may get maimed or killed. My second question is how are you planning to fill this tank to that high of a pressure?PM me with an answer to that, just curious really. Spud

You sure that wouldn't work for that psi?

Spudzinger, 9oz CO2 tanks fail at around 1800 psi, and even that is not the actual tank failing, it's just the saftey burst disk rupturing. 20oz tanks fail at 3000 psi for the same reason. I personally would only take the tank up to 1200 psi, so that should work out quite nicely for you. you can use any adapter with CGA 320 threads on it, but you might have to buy that. Also, buy a on/off valve to replace the existing pin valve on the tank. Both of these can be bought a Palmer's Pursuit.

Is the cga 320 threads the standard paintball threads? Because that is what the co2 tank has.

NO! NO! NO!

co2 tanks are NOT designed to handle high pressure air
do not put high pressure air in a co2 tank

if you dont want to put the money into a safe set up, dont bother at at all

you can get cheap aluminum HPA tanks for about $60, if you want a portable set up, that is what i would recommend

But, wouldn't an aluminum HPA tank run out of air like, really fast?
