Image

Cant flip image cause im a nutcase and i dont know how.

Anyway look at the picture im pretty sure you will be able to figure out what part is what, and yeah if you have any questions ask me. I drew this myself and it is like split apart into seperate parts, you can assemble/disassemble it like this aswell for replacement/cleaning.

I think i need to work on a different trigger mechanism, help would be appreciated. I am not sure if this mech will work, i will make one tomorow to test.

Also, please dont say 'ditch this idea and make a pnuematic they're much more powerful' because i and making this just a project. I am going to be starting a pnuematic sniper rifle soon, then i will have an assault weapon(my vortex) a secondary(this one) and a sniper.

Thanks in advance lads

Go here, look at that. >> http://www.cse.iitk.ac.in/~amit/courses ... index.html

Same deal as what you've designed.

How do you intend to cock the spring?

That is the same deal as what i've designed, except for the fact that is made out of metal, mine wil be mainly pvc with some metal parts.

I cock the spring by the rod(S shaped line in the top part)

it will be held in place with a sight, made of a strong bonding material at the front. and glued on the underside. the part pointing downwards will push the piston back when you slide it back, which will cock the spring.

-Skinner, I just checked out that link, and it looks hell useful for something I'm gonna make, thanks!

-Mr Russ I heaps like the idea of using springs for power! keep your ideas flowing and fill us in on any revelations you have

I think the pistol on boltsniper is exactly what you are looking for.

Why don't you use a syringe as the piston? It would have a near perfect seal.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

I tried making a mini nerf gun like this and ran into some problems.

1. Use an O-Ring. Don't use electric tape like the one gun on boltsniper.

2. I'm pretty sure your trigger mechanism needs to be flipped around. I found that the trigger didn't catch on the bolt very well. It did catch on the spring though because it's round. Even at this, it needed a lot of rubber bands to hold it.

If you want I can post pictures but I gave up on it so it's not much.

When you pull the bolt back, right now the catch is going to well catch on the spring so you won't be able to pull it back. The sloping side of the catch should be facing the front of the gun and the flat side of the catch should be facing the back.

I got like half way on this gun. When the first shot dribbled onto the floor 3 feet away, I threw it across the room and bawled my eyes out after wasting 2+ hours of precious time.
