I am writing this to tell people who are either too stupid ,think themselves too macho, or simply believe airsoft guns to be harmless, to warrant wearing eye protection. You are WRONG! My friend recently got shot in the eye by his brother from about 20 feet away and it was a ricochet. He spent 4 hours in the ER and now has glaucoma. He told me that it hurt incredibly badly even after being given morphine. Call me what you will but I think that everyone should hear this just to be on the safe side. Spudzinger
You get kicked out of an airsoft game for taking off eye protection and you're not allowed in without it. Theres good reasons for it.
You can get welts just on bare skin from being hit by the pellets, I'd hate to be hit in the eye by one.

hes right a shot to the eye can do that, be carful for the ricochets, people often don't suspet geting hit when plinking around, make sure you got a safe backstop too.
but for those use incedents like this to prohibit airsoft, chill
your eyes are very sensitive airsoft guns aren't that bad in case you get hit this proely was a high end gun with a huge diffrence from those cheapos, and of all the places to get hit your tiny eyes compared to the rest of your entire body its a very unlikley place to get hit. but take caution with all airsoft guns

Yeah, im not saying to like ban airsoft, paintball, etc. Infact I greatly enjoy going paintballing and may get my own gun soon, I just wanted to make a public service announcement of sorts. Spudzinger
i agree with iknowmy3tables that must have been a very powerful airsoft gun or maybe even a bb gun because one time my friends little brother was just playing around and he didnt know there was a pellet in the chamber and shot him straight in the bare eye from about 10 feet away and he didnt go anywhere near a hospital he just got real pissed off
p.s. i didnt mean to pick up a dead topic

the gun you are talking about must have been pretty weak. The gun involved was an airsoft and was regular power. Anyways, be careful, because I know many people on this website are hooligans( just kidding)

well veg their are are low and high end airsoft guns, the low ends are probaly what you where using usually range at $80 tops and use plastic gearboxes, better ones hurt like heck and are over $200 unless its a generic one
i have to disagree with you spudzingger about the vegs weak gun his friend must have blinked or not hit his eye at all because my freind hit his neibor in the eye from like 10 feet with a 30$ gun and was in the hospital and couldnt do anything for 2 weeks

I Think Spudzinger is exactly right, even though, Mr.Russ and i have those spring owered bb gns, that dont rea;;y hurt, we always wear eye gear, dont risk it, you dont want to end up blind, imagine living the rest of your life, not being able to see.

I really don't like it when people go plinking without eye protection. It's not "cool" or "manly", it's just plain stupid...

Maybe if it had hit him in the pupil, it would have gone through. He should consider himself highly lucky, and he probably learned that he needs to wear eye cover whenever he plays airsoft.veginator wrote:he didnt blink it hit him in the bear eye. he had a dent in his eye. i think it was a low end gun.

I am registered on many airsoft forums (mnairsoft.org)(ampair.net)(airsoftretreat.com)(airsoftrefuge) and many other, and I know many people who have had their eye shot, and had it removed. At all organized games I have went to (which is a LOT), you are required to wear full seal goggles. And an addition, you need something to cover your mouth too, an airsoft bb going roughly 350 fps (most guns shoot around that) can break a tooth in half, causing a LOT of money for dentist bills. So my message is, don't be an idiot and not wear eye protection.....
