I would recomend using a secondary resivior after the CO2 tank so that the Co2 will have time to expand. This will also gurentee longer bursts because regulators can tend to be slow on high volume applications such as this :)

I think it would have enough time to expand through the whole tubing, handle, tubing, vortex block all the way down the barrel and out..

does anyone agree with turbohacker that I should use a seccondary resiviour?

Better safe than sorry, liquid CO2 wreaks havoc on O-Rings and other seals, also it tends to make PVC super brittle...

care to explain?
I voted in the poll just plain "yes", but I posted earlier saying if you use the BBs with visible seams, it will jam. Just use ones without those seams and you will be fine.

About the CO2 expansion thing...
They make this coiled tubing stuff for paintball remote CO2 setups which expands the CO2 before it gets to your paintball gun.

Keep a couple feet of hose between the CO2 tank and the gun and you'll be fine.
Origin Unknown, worse quality BBs will not make a good vortex block jam.

My block doesn't jam, I just had one get lodged halfway up my barrel using some of my friends cheap BBs. This BB was more like a large deformed lump than a BB.

if you get a palmer you can also use nitrogen, and nitrogen and palmer is a double combo. crappy bbs usally won't make a vortex gun jam. thats a absolutly horrible quality bb if it won't go through the barrel. as long as its fits in the barrel and is roundish then it shouldn't jam whith that constant fast stream of air

noname- hop-up does not add sidespins. i knwo for a fact my airsoft rifle can shoot a good 50 feet further accurately with hop-up calibrated. if i turn the hop-up off, i cant hit jackcrap from 40 feet becuse the bb drops so much. honestly, i reccomend a hop-up, but make it adjustable. but its your decisiong i guess.....

Using a vortex gun with a hopup thingy wouldn't last long. The hop-up might need to be replaced after about 20,000 rounds going through it. It does help on an airsoft rifle, but to my knowledge no one on this forum has ever tried putting one in a vortex gun. If you have ever made a vortex gun, you would understand why you wouldn't really need hop-up to be accurate, or make the BBs go farther.

oooo i have an idea. coat the inside of the vortex block in rubber so the bb's get a spin before they enter the barrel!

and also, scince noone has tried, i think ill try it...... my airosft shotgun just broke, and i got the hop-up (adjustable) and barrel from it. ill tell you how it goes.

(ive put over 100,000 rounds through my AEG and its hop-up still works fine..... should proboaboly replace it but it still functions.....

in your average vortex gun which shoots roughly 50 to 100 rounds a second there is no need for hop up becuase the target is saturated with bbs. my vortex gun has a 9/32 3 foot barrel on it, the bbs spread out at id say was a 3 to 5 degree angle after they exit the barrel. if any thing hop up would make it worse because a normal vortex gun is the equivalent to a shotgun that has a fire rate of like 5 rounds a second. not like a pump airsoft shot gun but a real shot gun. any way if your looking for more range don't bother with hop up honestly its a pain, too much adjusting because at 100 rounds a second it gets worn down fast. (well at least my attempt which probably didn't use the finest materials) if you want range use heavier bbs, the heavier the bb the more accurate it is, the more fps it has, and the more range it gets. i don't really suggest getting anything over .28g becuase its just way to expensive when you can shoot 100 a second. ive played roughtly 10 games with my vortex setup which started out as a T vortex gun with a 5 gallon compressed air tank into what it is now a inline with a 5lb reg'ed co2 setup. the sound of it firing alone will make people run in fear, muhahahaha

well most of my friends have $300 to $600 guns and i just got the co2 recently only played 2 games with it (about 10 rounds) so my friends haven't realized its amazing power. i did take out an entire team of 5 in 12 seconds so they might catch on soon or realize there guns have a slight longer range than mine when i use .2g bbs (which is most of the time) no idea what the fps was but id guess around 350, kinda hard to chrono a vortex gun cause of the fire rate
