I hate lazy people... it never used to bug me, but it started too recently. We have a housekeeper who comes in and cleans... at least she is supposed to. All she does is use the time to use the phone and talk to her friends and call other people to set up appointments and stuff. She literally spends at least half of her time doing this. The other half, she does more damage than good. Things don't get cleaned, and she does damage by banging the damn vacuum cleaner into the wall and ruining people's stuff by carelessly stepping on them or in some other way. I mean, my parents pay her to do a good job, and considering how much work she does in a week... its pathetic. I know that I could do all of her weekly work in four hours or less
She always talks on the phone in the car while driving (which is illegal in NJ; dunno about other states), and she does it LOUD in Portuguese. She laughs really loudly and talks loudly on the phone... I hate it so much; you guys probably couldn't understand how annoying it is. Not only is it annoying, its illegal as well. She has already totaled her car before. She has also been warned by police officers to stop.
Now I can't stand to hear the Portuguese or Spanish language (they both sound similar to me; don't let my ignorance offend any of you who know better), just because the language causes me to think about her incredible laziness, carelessness, and worthlessness.
I could rant about this forever... I wish my parents would tell her that she is not allowed to talk to her friends during work hours, she is not allowed to watch TV during work hours, she is not allowed to deal with her appointments and such during work hours.... the list goes on. I know that these ideas are a little harsh, but every time I see her, she is doing nothing. Its really time that she actually started doing work and stopped being lazy. Her excuse is that its not interfering with work... that is total BULLSHIT. She also comes in two hours late everyday, and usually leaves an hour early. Instead of working hard from 9 to 6, she gets paid to talk to her friends from 11 to 5.
When she isn't on the phone or watching TV, she lies on our couch and reads. While this is a better alternative to her annoying loud conversations, its still not getting work done, and it still pisses me off. She argues that she is just taking a break. Her whole frigging day is a break!
Once a day, she will also "go out for a while". She sees friends, has lunch with friends, and does other things for herself. These little excursions can last from as little as one hour to five hours (leaving her one hour to "work"). Also, she schedules appointments during the workday, and doesn't tell my parents because she knows they won't find out.
Whenever my parents are home, she gives the impression that she is working when they are near... when they go upstairs or something, she will sit on the couch with the vacuum next to her, ready to get up at any moment to "work". This deception pisses me off a lot.
Her main job is probably to drive the kids (me and siblings) to our appointments and to drive us home as well. She fails at this as well. She is almost always late, usually due to her "forgetting". I guarantee that she is just having an extended conversation on the phone.
I wish that my parents would take action; they are so busy at WORK however, that they don't have time to change the way which she "works". The laziness, carelessness, deception, and all other bad qualities drive me insane. Rant over for now.
