Yes, magnesium will bubble in vinegar. This doesn't mean it will bubble in NaOH, which is basic. Aluminium only reacts because it's amphoteric.
Look, cheapest route:
Cast Aluminium and:
Concentrated (moderately crude) HCl for pools/brick cleaning
OR
NaOH dissolved in water from drain cleaner
Magnesium will simply never be a cheaper alternative.

For now I think im going to use sodium bicarbonate to make some smaller quantities of hydrogen.
heat sodium bicarb = sodium carbonate
sodium carbonate+water+al = Hydrogen + other products

1) burn more petrol in the engine to generate more electricity than normal to power a hydrogen producing cell
2) burn the hydrogen to generate power in the engine
In a nutshell...
Am I to understand that tearing water apart using electricity and then turning it back into water... results in more energy out than you put in?
Or another way of putting it, the hydrogen you generate has to produce more energy than the petrol you burnt to get it.
Don't forget about the wasted energy as you generated the hydrogen. Such as heat.

Hi everyone
The reactor is made of Nylon 1FR4 and all the pipes are these dimensions/ material: 4milimiters inside and six outside diameter and are made of high pressure plastic, they stand at least 6/8 bars....
The reactor as all of you Know has a safety valve and I have also put in a valve,(pistol one) that i have with me while the reaction is active, to reduce the pressure inside the H2Reactor, it reaches 4 bars, today I have filled a ballon with H2 and did a fire test, with a remote ignition system i have done and shown in the following picture, i had used Zn instead of Al because Zn is more reactive so it produces the final product really fast, the ZnCl2 didn´t react with the nylon as I first thought to do and the H2R also has a Pressurized Injection System (PIS) designed by me that consists in not only the use of gravity force to put the HCL in the H2R, it is a chamber, PVC chamber to not react with the HCL, and it has another valve,(pistol one) in my hand that is connected with my compressor, at 4bars, and it injects all the HCL (0.5L), inside the H2R.(I have used an electrolysis but it was to slow... and with my scrubber on H2R it is now a better option to follow.
(I´m going to load the H2R pictures)
In the RIS, I- BLB (burn laser box), the ignition;
II- bearing that allows the thread which brings the ballon of H2 that has less density than the air and rises high, touch the laser beam to explode(this was done already);
III-The electric motor that rolls the wire to pull the balloon to the ignition.

How long does it take to produce enough hydrogen to power our hybrid?
Oh and one more thing, did a little research, nylon may not be a good material to deal with acid... If any body knows more about nylon+acid could help. I still think it´s better to do a anti-acid coating in the inside of the chamber, like fiber glass or epoxy, before further using.

There is no problem using acid inside the Nylon 1FR4 reactor, I guarantee you that I have done a long research before doing it, dont`t you think?
