It never ceases to amaze me how retarded people can be. Take a look at this...

This should change your mind about using acetylene in your cannons!

This is retarded... every time a gas that is not a standard propelent damages something, people are like "OMG! Look what it did! It'll blow your cannon to HADES!"
...quite simply, cars arn't pressure containers. They have large, flat and relitivly weak windows, pathetic flat sheet-metal roofs... they just arn't built to withstand pressure, because it's not required of them.

the acetylene exploded from just that small amount of static, im in a welding class at my school and our instructor has many stories like this. he also did this but poked the ballon from afar with a hot electrode and stick

I wish I had welding classes in my school. I guess that's the fault of a conservative Catholic education, you know, all brains, no getting your hands dirty.
But that is insane to see what it did to the car. DANG!

idiots+explosives= disasters and people thinking this is what's gona happen around explosives
you don't have to be an idiot just for something bad to happen... we've all made mistakes that, if just one thing went differently, we would be dead. For example, spud gunning, if you had a hybrid and there was the tiniest crack and you didn't notice it for some reason, it would slowly expand and after a few shots, the whoule gun would explode. So don't assume that people who are unfortunate are naturaly idiots. oh and dragon, this ussualy is around the lines of what happens with explosives, crap blows up, that is exactly what they are designed to do.

first of all if you were careing explisives like that you build a magazine and idiot like gas explosive in a balloon in a car = bad and they should have known not to carry that sort of thing in a static rich environment
